In a large-scale operation dubbed the “Friday the 13th Purge,” Pol. Col. Napaspong Khositsuriyamanee, Superintendent of Chonburi Immigration, led a task force from Pattaya Immigration Police in raiding a suspected hub of illegal foreign workers. The raid targeted Foreman House, located in South Pattaya.

The operation aimed to dismantle a network of foreign labourers residing and working illegally in the area. Officers searched over 100 rooms in the four-story building, discovering a significant number of Myanmar nationals living there. The workers were gathered in the building’s parking area, where their passports, visas, and work permits were inspected. Many were unable to produce valid documentation.

As a result, immigration authorities detained all individuals and transported them in nine vehicles, including police trucks and local public songthaews, to the Pattaya Immigration Office. There, officials conducted further investigations to identify illegal migrants, unauthorised workers, those failing to report their residence, and individuals wanted under police warrants.

Pol. Col. Napaspong stated that the operation was in line with directives from the national police chief to crack down on high-risk areas and locations known for harbouring foreigners violating immigration laws. Special attention was given to foreigners entering on tourist visas but engaging in illegal work.

“Chonburi Immigration remains committed to aggressively combating crime and enforcing immigration laws to maintain public safety,” said Pol. Col. Napaspong.

Authorities have vowed to continue their efforts to eliminate illegal activities involving foreign nationals across the region.

These kind of mass immigrant labor busts always make me suspicious.  Not unknown for the sub-contractors who hire these guys to "drop a dime" on their own workforce, usually just before payday.  Police haul them away, contractor pockets the wages and soon hires a whole new workforce from the endless supply crossing the border.

So how many employers were arrested... ?

If migrants can't get work they won't come...

I suggest they go to walking street to a Russian go go bar. You’d think the name would tip them off but I’m sure they have already received their envelopes. Thailand needs these construction workers because most of the Thais don’t want to do it. The employers should be held responsible and accountable.
