At approximately 11:30 on December 20, Pol. Lt. Chantha Duwaman, Deputy Investigator of Bang Lamung Police Station, along with rescue personnel from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation, responded to a fatal road crash on Sukhumvit Road near the U-turn at Ban Suan in Naklua, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province.

The deceased was identified as Mr. Naruebhet Photthong, 31, whose body was found lying on the road near the U-turn. Close by, an Isuzu pickup truck with license plate number from Chonburi, was parked, displaying damage to its left front fender. The driver, Mr. Kirati Treerat, 39, remained at the scene awaiting police.

Nearby, authorities found a Pattaya-Aranyaprathet public van, with license plate from Sa Kaeo, damaged at the front driver’s side. The van’s driver, Mr. Worapoj Khongsap, 38, was also present to provide his account to the police.

According to Mr. Kirati, the pickup driver, he was stop at the U-turn waiting to make a turn when the motorbike, driven by the deceased, was struck by the van. The collision caused the victim’s body to be thrown into his truck.

Mr. Worapoj, the van driver, stated that he was transporting three passengers towards Si Racha when the accident occurred. He explained that the motorbike suddenly crossed the road in front of him, leaving no time to brake, resulting in the fatal collision. The impact caused the victim’s body to be thrown into the stopped pickup truck, leading to his death.

Police at Bang Lamung Police Station will conduct further investigations, including reviewing CCTV footage from the area, to determine the cause of the accident and proceed with legal action. The victim’s body has been taken to Pattaya Patthana Khun Hospital, where family members are expected to provide documentation to claim the body.

U-Turns on main highways... pretty much all of them have caused a death or two.

'31-Year-Old Man on Aerox' - I didn't know this was a make of bike; I thought it was the latest drug of choice.
