Are you actually on this planet, nevermind in Thailand... every day we see angry Thai men being violent, usually many v one, or they will use a weapon.

And how many of those angry Thai men being violent are they, compared to the male population of Thailand?

is it 1%, 10%, more, less. If you can come up with some actual figures and links, I may believe you, but until then you don't seem to have any sensible answer.

As for actually being on this planet, I have been working and living in Thailand since 1993. How about you?

This seems to answer the question put on here earlier this week.."Do Thai's attack foreigners for no reason"?, An 80 year old  Foreign man  against  6 Thai's, I think the answer in this case is , Yes they do

Well the proper question should have been "Do Thais who arent criminals attack foreigners for no reason"

Many moons ago (maybe 2003?) when staying in Pattaya several girls warned me to avoid those quiet sois that connect off Beach Rd "the boy hit your head!"  I was hearing this several times a week, I figured there must be something to it.  No great detour in avoiding them.

More than 10 years ago I remember a particular instance where a group of Thai guys drinking on the beach after midnight followed a drunk Westerner up Soi 10 and rolled him, beating him so severely that he died.

Happens a lot, sadly.

Especially in the Tourist ghettos.

The answer is, no they don't.

The majority of Thai mwn don't do that.

A very small minority of Thai's do, and that is usually blown way out of proportion by the press and the social media.

They didn’t look Thai to me.

And the problem you have is downplaying such behaviour and defending locals, when their behaviour doesn't warrant defending.

I DON'T have a problem, though you might have.

All I read is that MOST Thai men attack farangs which is quite untrue.

Nobody has come up with a figure or a % of how many Thai men attack farangs. So if YOU can come up with that number and post it with the link as to where it came from, then I might believe you.

Until that point you are wasting your time and mine.

There are about 34 million Thai male ranging from babies to seniors, so how many of those 34 million people actually DO attack farangs?

According to some posters the attackers may not even be Thai people.

This is a problem with jumping the gun with not enough information to go on.

Can't the hold the parents responsible for this behavior?  I thought I remember a few stories a couple months back about Police charging the Parents.

Definitely not acceptable.  I guess a group of us need to meet with the Mayor and some leaders of the Police to let them know this should not continue.

Seems to be teen related events hitting the news.  Did Police scare them away from Bali Hai pier area and now they have moved elsewhere to continue to cause problems?

Pointless. They already know this. It won't change anything if teenagers aren't scared or deterred by the perceived consequences of such acts.

I have heard the same.

Working girls get targeted too late night either walking or on their motorbike being surrounded by motorbike thugs on the darker quiter soi’s.

They know many are cashed up heading home.

Dream on with your nonsense.

It just shows the sheer rubbish you like to spout on here.

Here's your link, by the way.

You want to talk about national statistics as opposed to a vicious incident that has occurred against an 80-year-old defenceless man.

The thread is about a cowardly attack by young THAI thugs, another point you did not wish to accept, as though the culprits flew in from Timbuktu.

Who said they were Thai?

Probably Burmese or Cambodians.

There is two sides to every story.

Unbelievable...

You also forgot to victim blame and suggest that the 80 year old must have done something to warrant such an attack....  :whistling:

What a horrible thing to attack an 80 year old man. They were 6 of them and could have easily just taken his money and vanished. What was the need to beat him up so savagely? I hope all of them are caught, shamed in public and then jailed for a very long time. 😠

Police had better come up fast with solving this unfortunate violent robbery where machete or sword are involved . Nip such crime on the bud before other copycat robberies. Going soft on this type of crime will definitely affect the perception of expats as well as tourists on personal safety in pattaya.
