A perfect day for you

What is your perfect day?

It used to be like this, not necessarily motorbike ride, but some activity.

Waking up right before sunrise and brewing coffee for myself and the wife.  Followed by  a one to two hour trail run through the lava rock hills that follow the Mekhong river where I live.  Get back home to my wife in the garden and enjoy the calm nature that engulfs our place for a few hours.  For lunch, we would go to our restaurant with a view of the hills and enjoy Thai food and laugh at whatever.

The rest of the day after a long 1-2 hour nap would be up in the air.  Fixing something that needs fixing around the house, read a book, or play on the internet.  Before sunset jump on the scooter and go to our private spot on the Mekhong and have a drink or two with nobody else around.

At 30, when I first arrived here 25 years ago, I would have been constantly chasing the  next high which in many cases would be  sex or alcohol most days and these activities would define my day.  Fun times but happy where I'm at now.

Get up, perfect cup of coffee, smoke some carefully curated weed and just schmooze around. All sorts of cool things to do.

A normal day For me is waking up and taking the dog or the dogs for a walk, and sometimes my cat follows. Some small exercises when back and coffee time. The most important is to eat well, and eat healthy. The more self sufficient we get the better.

Small things need to be done, make sure the animals have water and everything is how it should be at our farm.

A ride with the motorbike up in the hills, stop by my favorite restaurant, have a nice meal, and maybe a beer is the best I can get around here for now. 5 days working out is necessary for my physical and mental health as well when living outback in Isaan.

A quite nice mellow normal life with some responsibilities gives me a good night's sleep.

The most important for me these days, is to have a good life, and boring life is a good life to.

Right now I got everything I need for building a dog house which will be back from our trip down south, and also found a nice youtube video I will use.

As long you believe in your success, nothing is better than that.

Today is shaping up to be one.   Daughter down from the Big Mango for my BD.  Salmon & eggs brekkie with her.  Might pop over surfside for a munch @ RTAF Wing 5 base.

See if the Duskies are playing in the sun ...

Just building something is quite pleasant, and in fact good for body and mind.

Also riding motorbike in the nearby hills, and when bored up here, we go south. It is not a competition, it is just about doing what you want, when you want and know you have other options when you need a change. Thats it. What makes you happy, doesnt need to match anyone else's needs

Then your initial response to my post was just another troll.

Deal with hangover, struggle through GammaGlobulator tat, work on next hangover.

You don't do any of that sh!t. You spend all day long in a weed-induced fog, arguing with strangers on AN.

Nice try, though.

Yet you still slagged off Yagoda's potential plans for a day. Hypocrisy at it's shining best.

Out of the two days outlined, I know which one I would prefer and it certainly isn't yours.

Each to his own though.

It comes with the history between us, or what he continously flag on the forum.

I'm happy to hear you also enjoy your days in Asia and have a quality healthy life on your elderly days.

Please don't get me wrong. I think the guy you are talking about is one of the biggest bell-ends ever to have walked this earth. I was being very selective regarding three or four things to do during the day from his very long list.

I really do not know how he manages to function as a human being. I can only picture him on a 'sunshine bus' licking the windows.

Don’t get the angst. 😬

Seriously, coffee at 5-6 catching sun-up in this fair land is sublime.

Wish you a great day my friend.

  • 3 weeks later...

My boy's not so much a boy now so he amuses himself outside of school with friends, girlfriend or boxing gym. I wake early on Saturday, make coffee and read the news.

After a decent breakfast my wife and I go out somewhere- cinema, mall, anywhere as long as we can have lunch and enjoy a relaxed mooch around. Second hand bookshops are one of our favourite places. Really needn't be anywhere special.

Home and Mrs. Nik makes a yum or a laab which we share with a couple of beers (dry January at the mo, so soda water).

Not smoking now so I may drop a gummy and watch a movie or read, working my way through "The Iliad", while she does her art and craft stuff. Maybe even a bit of slow jazz.

I'm 57 now. This is pretty much all I want or need on my day's off. Just don't have the inclination to go crazy like I used to.

The simple things in life rock my world now.
