I have no idea as to whom he was referring ( IMO the other posters on this forum that apparently claim to be military experts despite never serving, nor willing to leave the safety of their bedrooms and join the fight ) but while I'm not disparaging you personally, major is not very high level when it comes military strategy. Not much more than staff sergeant for an NCO.

The really important ranks are colonel and above.

Sounds like you’ve spent most? a large part of your life in the military. I’m sure one can learn some “skills” in the military but where day to day living is concerned, a civilian upbringing provides better skills and knowledge. IMO.

If you mean me, I have never spent a day in the military, thank God. I find many military people lacking in many social and civil skills in everyday life and doesn’t have the flexibility required to analyse and understand the world around them.
