Is another TM.30 required from my condo landlord if I stay in a hotel overnight?

If one is aware that the TM.30 submitted for the 90 day report is not the latest one submitted to immigration due to a stay in a hotel, I think it would be wise to report a week early.  In case the immigration officer calls you out on the discrepancy, you have a week to submit a new TM.30 to immigration and reconcile what's in their computer database with the TM.30 you submit for your 90 day report.

The trouble starts if a 3rd party such as a hotel files a TM30 notification for you that "overwrites" the one you had filed for your regular/permanent residence. Especially if that is a place that is outside of your immigration office's jurisdiction.

Like I said immigration is only looking is only looking for one TM30 during the last 3 months they do not want a TM30 from every one of your stays this goes for people that are on non-O visas or are just asking for an extension. Has nothing to do about if you're staying outside of the immigration office range or not what do you expect people that come here for 3 months they just stay in Chiang Mai or in one place for two months before they do their extension of course they travel everywhere immigration only wants to see one TM30 nothing else said

If using your pink card on hotel check in, instead of passport, will that by-pass the TM30?

If they accept it, yes. As they need your passport number in order to file a TM30 for you.

They asked me to contact my landlord and get a new one there and then.

As long as you are only travelling for a few days or a week... and returning to the residence registered in immigration. You should not need to file another TM 30.... However there are some offices determined to make your life miserable and collect as much paperwork as possible that may demand you make a new one. But the laws say you do not need to for the reasons above

Been here 18 years , don’t think I’ve ever filled a tm30 out ever, my local immigration was a pit pissed , so rude, so I walked out, got a letter of residence from a office next door …

The only time you would (perhaps) require a TM30 is if you need to have dealings with immigration.

For example to obtain an extension etc.

Even then a TM30 is not necessarily required.

Not sure of that in Pathum Thani.  While I was doing my annual, a guy came in to extend, and the captain told him he would need to know where the guy was staying when he came into extend.

This whole system is so screwed up I long for the (BIG JOKE) days when we had a guy in charge that was in charge.   Things are so messed up right now.

For example, when I first moved here, I stayed with my GF, who was renting a house.  All immigration wanted was her to fill out the paperwork and send them a copy of her id card by email.  After that I took her with me but she was never needed.

Then got a new GF and have been staying at the house that I rented and submitted a copy of teh lease agreement for the first year.  Then, a few years later, gf bought the house. I never needed anything but took the gf with me in case.  This year, they told me I needed tm30, and after supplu\ying that, she told me I just needed a tm 28 next year.

Man it keeps us on our toes.  I also go to Pats, Samed or stay overnite in BKK never needed to do a tm30 for 90 day report. I will see what happens this time

There is no consistency. I had not done a TM30 for quite a long time, in which I have been in and out of the country a few times. However, last time I had to do a 90 days (in person because of entering again) I was cautioned that I needed to do a TM30 again. My landlord is my wife, we live in the same condo for more than 10 years already. So I went to the website and could not get it done, without understanding why. My wife then called the immigration number and we got on the phone with an English speaking official. He was very patient and took a lot of time to help me. Thing was they renewed the website and the original profile (of my wife) needed to be updated with a few items that had been added but not been filled in (e.g. gender). After that all went well and I could confirm my status as approved. Pfffff........

TM28 is a change of address form. It's not used for extensions, it's used for when you move to a new province and need to change your address.  And for the most part it's not longer used at all in favor of the TM30.
