Elections were held in the UK in July 1945 before the end of the war when the coalition fell apart and Churchill was kicked out.

 

After the European war ended when there was no longer a threat to the UK homeland

Britain had an election during WW1, which Lloyd George won.

Didn't the US have an election during WW2?

 

No Truman VP took over when Roosevelt dies. There was not an UK election during the European war in WW11. The Japanese did not pose a threat to the homeland
