Correct. It was actually often unfairly maligned Neville Chamberlain who began the rapid expansion of the RAF, and ultimately it was the strength of the Royal Navy that deterred invasion - not to mention Hitler's vacillating attitude and preoccupation with making war in the East.

I was going to make a detailed rebuttal of the original poster's sillier points but one soon works out it's pointless when the person is clueless.

On a side issue, I think Zelensky  has quite a lot in common with Churchill but that's for another discussion

Do reinvent history by all means if you want to make vacuous attacks against other posters, but unfortunately for you it's all on the record.

Many different sites supporting me, but I'll provide just one.

https://archives.chu.cam.ac.uk/education/churchill-era/exercises/appeasement/churchill-rearmament-and-appeasement/

Churchill’s role in British defence planning and foreign policy during the 1930s is of crucial importance for any understanding of the period. Unfortunately, it is virtually impossible to look at the issue now without hindsight. Churchill identified the growing strength of Germany’s armed forces, and he was proved right; he predicted that the situation in Europe would lead to war and it did; he said Britain was far behind Germany in its programme of rearmament and especially in air power, and he was right in this too. The case for honouring his foresight and condemning those on both sides in parliament who ignored and even derided him can seem unanswerable.

You did mention clueless in your post did you not? Zelensky is many things but Churchill, hardly.

The territory that will go to Russia are the lucky ones.

The rest will get a big inflow of migrants to replace the dead people and rebuild .

That is the plan. The ukranians are fighting for a country that will not be theirs anymore

in a few years after the wars finishes.

Of course it is Putin's plan to control all of Ukraine whether literally or through a puppet government. A person would have to be totally clueless not to see that. Any kind of "peace" deal wouldn't change Putin's intention one bit.

All were Ukrainians. Would Putin dare to hold another referendum under Ukraine constitution, referendum recognised by fundamental principles of internally accepted electoral laws and hold the referendum when the country is pacified and not in front of guns and tanks of the Russian army.

Let's start by having fair elections in Ukraine without any involvement of the EU, the US and Russia. Zelensky has postponed the elections using the war as an excuse.

Let's have a durable cease fire and get the Ukrainians back home.

Suuure! And it's not like martial law would be of any interest when a country is continuously invaded and bombed!

BTW, the parliament has voted to postpone elections.

The USA is not the Ukraine though .

The USA can fight back against any Country that attempts to invade the USA .

The Ukraine is unable to do that

I think that is obvious, but, us free countries usually always came to the aid of a minnow.

If the USA's new leader is giving all that up, then it is a sad state of affairs.

Sadly, 4 years of his list of trouble, though with a bit of luck, less...:intheclub:

Only one country has started two World War's, with Japan in one...........?

Russia backs ALL the naughty countries, not of the free world.

In this case, he is pushing the boundaries to see what he can get away with....

To have a fair election, it will mean a good turnout of electorate. You cant have a good turnout when 7 million Ukrainians are refugees and another 3.7 miilion internally displaced and a sizeable voters are at the frontline. Russia has to agree for a permanent peace before an election can be fairly held. You can't trust Putin on a cease fire agreement.
