Of course, though the left needs imaginary things to whine about. That’s what this is really about.

Maybe some of it, but the threat to Social Security is real.

Read the thread today on Musk's paranoid vision of Social Security.

Yeah

What a bummer.

Lots of people are forced to find a new grift or maybe even a real job.

The audacity of actually making people come to the office to work or to justify receiving USAID money.

Ahhh.....A Guardian reader, accounts for your moronic posts.

Trump’s Final Term Ends in about 1400 days on January 20th, 2029.

If he keeps up his current pace the US and the world will be a very different place in 2029, possibly a post-nuclear-war apocalyptic pile of radioactive waste.

At least that would put an end to the AN trolling epidemic!

In just 50 days, Donald Trump has upended our world. He has ripped up rules, attacked allies and sided with enemies. A country we thought for decades had our backs is no longer a reliable partner.

The big debate now is whether this is a tactical move to reshape our foreign policy or a revolution?” said R. Nicholas Burns, the US ambassador to China under President Joe Biden and to Nato under President George W. Bush.

“I’ve come to think it’s a revolution,” he said. “When you are voting with North Korea and Iran against Nato allies, when you are failing to stand up to Russian aggression, when you are threatening to take the territory of your allies, something has fundamentally changed. There is a breaking of the trust with allies we may never be able to repair.”

Wow, you posted this four minutes after the original post and you have watched the entire 56 minute video in those four minutes and decided it is left biased.

How do you expect to be taken seriously? You haven't even watched it!!

Perhaps he had watched it before the video was posted here!

From the whiners in chief who have whined about everything under the sun for a decade...is there anything that maga can find to NOT whine about?  Tired of WHINING about all the WINNING?

Yes He has upended  thousands of illegal immigrants some with criminal records.

European countries should emulate to do something similar

Ask many native peoples how they feel about illegal immigrants that arrived, stole their land, broke all the agreements, enslaved many and now sit and whine about all the illegal immigrants .

It's all ok as long as it is you and your family.  But how dare others do what many others did before them...move to a new country to try and make a better life for themselves and their families.  And the big web of illegal immigrants with criminal records has also swept up thousands with NO criminal record if you bother to do a tiny bit of research.

Nope.  Just lefty tears.

As I’m against DEI, am an advocate of free speech, and despise Wokery in general, I’m regularly called a right wing looney. However, had I been a US citizen, I would have voted for Harris, as 4 more years of Wokery would have been far preferable to Trump’s unconscionable support of Putin, together with his insane trade war.

So for me, it’s a case of righty tears, especially considering the enormous long term damage Trump’s inflicted on the Republican party.

What I wouildn't pay to see someone kick out the bloated EU bureaucracy and the political parasites in the member states. Imagine if someone cut welfare in Germany, UK and France...no more rasta-haired white kids throwing beer cans and cigarette butts on the local city square...

Who knows with a bit of luck Trump's policies will be copied by someone in Europe eventually. One can but dream....

The Dems/Libs did so much damage that it was always going to be disruptive to untangle their mess but it had to be done.

Trump is doing a great job. Of course nobody gets everything right but he's getting 9/10 right. I only wish Britain had someone like him to sort out our mess.

Even before Trump came into office, there have been many articles about how baby boomer retirees are reluctant and cautious about spending out of fear of unknown expenses such as long term care and senior health care.

Just think about the layers of uncertainty all this talk about cutting social security, medicare and medicaid is adding to the equation, not just for beneficiaries but for their family and friends, and people they do business with. Is Aunt Betty going to be evicted? Ask me for a loan? Not be able to pay back the money she owes me? Will my benefits arrive on time next month? The price of this psychological torment on consumer sentiment and spending is under appreciated.

My social security was interrupted a couple of months ago because I supposedly didn't send in a proof of life form (which I never received), but I can just imagine what impact something like this would have on someone living month-to-month on SS alone, or if it took six months for benefits to be restored after they were suspended.

The thing I find so distasteful about Trump, Musk, and DOGE is the contempt they are showing for government workers and people who rely on the government for assistance. If government needs to be trimmed, run more efficiently, or if belts need to be tightened, you can do that in a way that minimizes disruptions to people's lives. Some of the people in the new administration seem to think being cruel is a measure of manhood.

Still the early stage of denial. Will give you time for anger, depression and finally acceptance that Trump is  buffoon. By the way, Trump inherited a honeymoon of an economy and he would have done well by not doing anything.

Well, its deja vu all over again.  Trump was handed a terrific economy by Obama and managed to screw it up by the end of his term.  Now he's been handed a terrific economy by Biden, who got things back in order after Trump's first term chaos, just in time for Trump to take over once again, although he's been faster this time around in wreaking havoc.

Facts not imagination…..Trump bankrupted 2 casinos…..trump was fined and forbidden to have a charity because he stole from it….he is a convicted felon….he insults pows and degenerates veterans….he dodges taxes….he is a scofflaw…..he is a trust fund baby…..that’s just a tenney tiny itsite little bitty bit of the pile of nastiness that is trump.now just what has trump accomplished.well for starters he’s disenfranchised 50% of our population,he’s betrayed Ukraine,he’s knifed the European democracy’s in the guts undermined nato, supports the likes of putin over our allies, started a trade war based in lies ,deprived millions of starving people of food, fired thousands of civil servants without just cause,he’s undermining our judiciary,he’s attacking our freedom of speech.thats just a tiny bit of the stuff he and his team of vandals are up to.Furthermore this constant attempts to label people is such a giveaway and wrong.I find it amusing that republicans cannot even hold town halls anymore because their own constituents boo them of stage!anyway this constant labeling is getting tiresome and it’s a dead giveaway of trolling and or a product of a bot farm.

You think you can sell gas-guzzling behemoths into Europe, where roads are narrower and gasoline/diesel is priced realistically? Good luck with that.

maybe those gas guzzling ginormous tanks should be banned.

why does everyone in north america feel entitled to own one of these things?

and why does anyone even need one? in case your child's entire soccer team needs to hitch a ride?

Here is an honest question, thanks to anyone who can answer me this.

The President of the United States of America has started to put tariffs on different goods

from different countries.

According to his own words"hundreds of billions"

Where is that money now?who is getting it?

Thanks in advance,

AFAIK the US government collects tariffs on imported goods.

I have not heard of said government returning the tariffs to buyers of those goods.

I'd add stomping on DEI to your list.  I'm not sure I always agree with how he's going about doing stuff, and I'm not sold on the benefit of all the tariffs, but generally he's doing okay.

The list of domestic wins is a long one and I didn't want to post a laundry list , but yes, destroying DEI is a good one. If he deletes the Federal Education department  and decimates every Federal department he's a real winner, IMO.

The backstabbers have their vorpal blades out though, so he's not going to do it easily, or without a lot of screaming. I hope he stays the course.

My favorite Trump post recently: “We should spend less time worrying about Putin and more time worrying about migrant rape gangs, drug lords, murderers, and people from mental institutions entering our country - so that we don’t end up like Europe”. God Bless President Trump

Unfortunately, the Federal government ( like every western government ) has become bloated and corrupt, and there just isn't any easy way to destroy the inefficiency and sack the drones without a lot of screaming. It's like the NHS- get rid of 70% of managers and it would work 100% better, IMO.

Far as social welfare goes, there are three parts to it- those that earned their assistance by a life of work and taxes, those that deserve assistance while things are tough through no fault of their own, and those that do not deserve any assistance but get it because of politics eg illegal immigrants, the lazy, the criminal, etc.

IMO don't touch the first, tighten up the second to ensure that only the deserving get it, and scrap the third almost entirely. No fit person should ever get the dole for more than a short period while they look for work, and not at all if they refuse a job offer. Illegals- zero.

Are you still employed? If so, in the private or public sector?

If unemployed, disabled or retired, what kind of income support do you have?

See where I am going with this?

Some of us can read english and understood from the cliff notes posted that its a bunch of crying from non Americans.  People crying because the well is getting capped and you'll need to fend for yourself.
