I've seen several fights between Thais and farangs over here; it usually starts one on one with some kind of misunderstanding then progresses to someone becoming physical, then onto several Thais jumping in to help their colleague, and if you're close to a motorbike stand.....watch out(!) because guaranteed they'll get in on the action! Pack mentality at its finest!

Well they can have mum and my sister if they really want.

I would want at least a fiver for my girlfriend though.

Ten against one. It's the Thai way. The best reason I can think of why foreigners should be allowed to carry guns. Ten men mowed down with an AR-15 would give them pause for thought.

Have you ever been to Bangkok Hilton prison?

Pattaya and Phuket: two places I avoid like the plague.  Pattaya was wonderful 40 years ago.  Downhill since.

Another example of Thai Male bonding, go and kick the sh×t out of another Farang

Nothing good happens at 4 am in Pattaya.

And if you pick a fight with one Thai you know that 10 more will jump you.

Pick your battles and be smart!

I'm guessing...   some snide remark from one to anther, a reply... then an issue went from zero to incendiary in seconds with a 10 on one beating...

I've seen it enough times in these area's the 'some of these MC guys are looking for a trigger'...  just waiting sometimes....

A mate was beaten up...   he walked past a group on a corner... he was drunk...    the MC guys if he asked if he wanted an MC... he replied....     "No thanks"....    they shouted back at him something about being a no good foreigner...      he told them to "F-off"... and that was all it took, they set about him....

... His mistake, no just walking past them completely ignoring any attempted 'trigger'....

I've heard similar stories a few times....

Meanwhile...  in other area's these Win-rider guys can be quite helpful and run out and do errands for you...

It just depends where you are - and the guys working in Pattaya and Patong at 4am are not right guys to be having any form of interaction with at all... none-whatsoever...    they are 'hand-grenades on a hair trigger'...

When I was taking a tour in Vietnam, my guide brought this up to the group. Vietnamese might not know a lot of English but they do know the word "f**k". You could say something about the "f**king" heat and things might pop off. I guess it is so common that my guide had to bring it up. 🤣

Thailand is not Benidorm.

Oh, do Spanish men gang up 10 to 1 on one drunk/ rude foreigner ? Never heard that, and they get their fair part of idiots .

Again an example of a great family oriented place there must be more to this surely

Hopefully Pattaya NEVER EVER becomes a vile "family place". Keep the families away, as they are ruining the place.

Lets have more negative media reports to scare the families away. Let them go to Phuket instead. Phuket is already ruined, but there is still hope for Pattaya.

And it most certainly is NOT the safest country on earth, silly statement.

BS. I felt more unsafe in London that I ever did in Thailand, ANYWHERE.

No country is "safe" but Thailand is high on the safe country list.

In my real world experience, no foreigner that is polite and doesn't treat the Thais badly is at risk.

I've seen only 1 instance of many Thais beating up a farang, but the one I saw in a gogo was well deserved by a thug farang that was abusing the girls.

Tourists have to remember this isn't Magaluf or Ibiza. Awful what's happened.

Social media toss pots fuelling this mantra to come to Thailand and live a lawless free party lifestyle. It's all fake nonsense.

These tourists do not behave like this in Dubai or Singapore, yet feel embolded to misbehave in Thailand. The policing has been too soft too.
