harryviking Posted March 29 Posted March 29 LOL! Anyone walking around with a T-shirt with the image of Putin or Hitler might get a nasty surprise if they meet the right people...😆 1 1 1

Not an Indian Swastika, but exactly Nazi's. So what? Did it make world better? "I don't think so, Tim!" Earlier, the Consular of Israel send her protest regarding school's costume show in CM. Oh, My God, kids marched in Nazi's attire/entourage! Did it make any change? Nope, just noisy ripples in press. "Starship Troopers" actors wore uniforms that resembled German Nazi's. So what? All we remember are boobs of the redhead and huge roaches. Yet... Prime Minister of country C. proudly applauded to Nazi collaborator. Did it make world better? Nope, it made it worst. Now it's OK & legit to praise them as "defenders of democracy, freedom and independence". Do your math. What a croc. It is not ok to wear a shirt, or whatever, with symbols of a group responsible for gassing 6 million jews. People who wear clothes like that are total idiots, who can expect remarks about their stupidity.. 1
cdemundo Posted March 29 Posted March 29 This reminds me of the Christian protests against "Life of Brian" gave Monty Python massive free publicity. Many who have not known about this shop will now stop in and shop. Like me, I like wacky t-shirts. I agree with the poster who said that if you don't like the shirts buy them and burn them. Put a little money where your mouth is. Not pointless in any event, this little kerfuffle should benefit the shop. 1
BangkokReady Posted March 29 Posted March 29 8 hours ago, richard_smith237 said: True... and thats a valid point... I see that equally as distasteful and hypocritical. I remember seeing T-shirts with Che Guevara for sale in the Student Union (when I was at Uni)... He was seen as a revolutionary... Quite different from Mao I'd argue and I never saw in Mao T-shirts in the west. I remember seeing one of Mao. Of course there were loads of Che t-shirts and posters. He was seen as a revolutionary, sure, but he tortured and murdered plenty of people. And he was a communist, which speaks for itself. The fact that he was seen as a revolutionary figure, without anyone actually knowing what he did, kind of makes my point. Here's a couple of Mao jumpers: https://www.amazon.com/Zedong-Chairman-Chinese-Patriot-Pullover/dp/B09NTP32QX?customId=B078RXQC7K&customizationToken=MC_Assembly_1%23B078RXQC7K&th=1 https://www.ebay.com/itm/362384303397 Then there's the John Cena meme picture. You wouldn't see that with Hitler. I think they're simply viewed objectively and unemotionally as famous political icons, rather than torturers and mass murderers, which is how Asian people probably think of someone like Hitler or Putin. I can't believe people have the nerve to try to tell people what is right and wrong in another person's country. As though what that society thinks or feels is irrelevant and their feelings take priority. 1

I saw a girl in a Khon Kaen market recently wearing a t shirt that said “Jesus loves you but I think you are a C@@t”! 1 3

Pretty sure there are 2 opinions of him Or is it just certain ones are not acceptable to you? Yes, the noble Che. I have met Cuban exiles in US who call him "the murderer". So as you say, two opinions. A Thai acquaintance told me that she thought most kids wearing Che t-shirts think he is a rockstar.

I once saw a Thai hipster chick on the BTS with a t-shirt that proudly said "Saint Margaret's, Bell Gardens". So proudly supporting a little Catholic Church in an LA suburb. Somehow struck me as so absurd and funny and still does. Once saw a quite high quality dress on an Asian lady in LA with half-tone text design with the plastic bag warning text: "WARNING: To avoid danger of suffocation, keep this plastic bag away from babies and children. Do not use this bag in cribs, beds, carriages, or playpens. This bag is not a toy." Westerners are just as bad. When someone proudly tells me what the Chinese text on their garment or tattoo means I always think "As far as you know".

The shopkeeper may be illiterate (MAYBE) not deflamation. Teens wearing Nazi teeshirts just think its trendy they have no knowledge HISTORY becomes more irrellevant as time passes In the 90's in Camden-Town the T shirt, 'Hitler European Tour' was a block buster. 1 1

Many of you would be very upset with Tshirts showing a president getting his head blown off, or images of Melania being ravished by caricatures of afro american males. It is how they make their living that is questionable . Your logic holds that pornography featuring performers who may be 18, but present as minors is acceptable. Your logic also holds that video recordings of ISIS beheading victims is acceptable. After all the websites like Ogrish said it was for "educational" purposes. Your logic also holds that websites like 4 Chan that offer information and images of some very evil things are acceptable. As mentioned above, Thais are offended when their religion or institutions are ridiculed or exploited for commercial purposes. Isn't the theatrical production of the King and I musical still banned in Thailand? Double standards are what drives her supported on this website. Of course you will. Not surprised. Your strong support of neonazis is constantly on display. You really are a piece of work. You are one of the shrill bullies who berates anyone who questions your beloved bully Trump. It is not virtue signalling. Multiple members of my family put their lives on the line in active service in WWII serving in the RAF, RCAF, and US Army in both Europe and the Pacific. I have an obligation to them and their fallen comrades and friends who did not come back not to allow the glorification of evil to go unchecked. Please play "God Save the King" (or "Anarchy in the UK") while reading the following: "Multiple members of my family put their lives on the line in active service in WWII serving in the RAF, RCAF, and US Army in both Europe and the Pacific. In case you forgot, Putin's justification for invading Ukraine was the need for "denazification". And here we see an act sure to antagonize and upset Russian sensibilities. Let's see how Putin's fan club responds. It is rather universal not to celebrate mass murderers. You don't see this nasty profiteer putting up tshirts of Pol Pot or Panya Khamrab because she doesn't have a market for that. She is targeting farang customers. Thailand caters to alot of deviants. Your logic really does not hold up. "You don't see this nasty profiteer putting up tshirts of Pol Pot or Panya Khamrab because she doesn't have a market for that. " Duh.

cdemundo Posted March 29 Posted March 29 This has been a fun topic. Should have been harmless fun but as always some got over excited. In any event I hope she has some extra large sizes, I bet I'll find some thing I like.
daveAustin Posted March 29 Posted March 29 You can't really blame the vendor since she very likely has NO clue who Hitler and Putin are. All she sees is baht.
WDSmart Posted March 29 Posted March 29 If this had happened in my home country, the USA, up until about three months ago, nothing would have prevented it. This is an act of free speech. Now, however, under Trump's presidency, doing this very well might be prohibited and result in a jail term or deportation. 😞 1

KhunLA Posted March 29 Posted March 29 I can see a new trend for shop owners, new signage to add to .. ... No Shirt No service
