Well if they had real allies at the beginning of this sad, forlorn, destructive administration, they are disappearing fast. When astonishing levels of ignorance prevail at the highest levels of government and you have a man who spends every waking moment trying to think of creative ways to insult and belittle friends and allies, it's just not a good formula for maintaining alliances. Picking fights with Mexico, Canada and Europe are just not smart. I get standing up to Russia, I get standing up to China, but instead of standing up to Russia this goon is doing just the opposite and allying himself with an enemy and a genocidal maniac.

 

Can anyone explain to me where the reasoning is in that kind of behavior and hostility? Or are we witnessing such poor policy, that there is very little reason being applied?

As you can see there is very little tolerance and a lot of very thin skin when it comes to MAGA supporters, and the slightest bit of criticism of their political master results in name calling and ridiculously juvenile tactics like labeling someone an America hater. Since the vast majority of republicans themselves are not willing to criticize the goon, even when he does things that are completely inane, so when anybody else uses common sense and reason to complain about bad policy, verbal grenades are lobbed in their direction. It is so sad and so pathetic. 

 

It's just dumb, it's just silly, and it's very demonstrative of the lack of critical thinking on the part of people who throw these kind of labels around.

Some years back, I remember reading a theory that America, already in decline from its best days, would need to let other regional powers rise. In other words, China would be the power influencing Asia-Pacific without any major challenges, the US would hold the power of influence over the Americas, Russia would also be a power allowed to do what it wants, and Europe would need to band together for their own good. It seems to me that Trump is putting that theory into practice. His threats to Canada, Panama and Greenland, seem to support this. And his relationship and attitude toward's Putin's aims seem pretty clear by now. Trump's position on China is not clear yet. He seems to be a bit hesitant there (maybe because of the US debt they could call in). Would Trump really go toe to toe with China if the latter invaded Taiwan? Maybe he'd hold back? Anyway, Trump could be in the early days of executing the regional power theory..
