This is silly semantics, I used the term without the moralist superstructure you place on it.  You can say that country was "better" at fighting or "superior" at warfare. The fact remains they excelled in something over and above that ethnic group that was rounded up, even if it was just military capability.

A different way as it relates to politicians is to say maybe it's not resentment - but disappointment, bewilderment, not so much in the politician who may be well known to be a shyster bore but in the masses of people who believe he is a good thing who will bring a better life  to them and the world. Back on topic. I put this out in another thread but I am going to post it again. I understand what Trump is trying to do. (well, as well as anyone who thinks he knows). I don't agree with his method. the only reason Trump didn't lose everything in the 90's was that NY State Bankruptcy laws make it very difficult to recover money. Eventually, the banks gave up. Yes, Trump had help from his father, but he was given perhaps 14 million USD or so, or whatever amount it was. His net worth now is 5.1 billion USD. Even if Trump were a fund manager he would be celebrated for his peformance.
