Sad emoji people

I think the OP can expect many thumbs down reactions now.

The heart broken as sad does not appear as negative to me, and despite the wailing a negative reaction is often needed.

Thats the idea, The sad was abused and often used as a negative; now if a negative is wanted, the thumbs down is there.

Sad emoji people & Confused emoji people

Most of them aren't smart enough to reply, others just do it to  annoy the poster ,and some don't understand  the post if  english isn't their home  country lingo.

This would be an easy fix If the mods just got rid of the 2 emojis .       🙏

Good to see he's got 41 heart broken and a couple of thumbs down even in the short period they've been active.

Have you tried them recently?

Let's see how man sad emojis turn up from the miserable people.

Mute point now. There is no sad emoji anymore, but I am glad to see a thumbs down.
But, no worries, h-fan, I didn't leave any emoji. I thought it was better to comment. 😇

These emoji things are largely irrelevant, does anyone even really look at them or care who's clicking what?

Having said that I do like the thumbs down emoji, I suggested that the poop emoji might be a good idea a few years back but that didn't seem to stick 🤣

Many children in this thread get upset at them unbelievably.

The broken heart emojii is stupid .

A post you respond to with a broken heart is maybe ok

on a dating site or tinder , not here.

That's because the "sad" were replaced, so all previous sad are now heartbroken.Any previous "Confused" are gone!

Please understand,   if anyone has inadvertently received a broken heart from me it does not mean I had any feelings for you in the previous emoji life.

Yes, the negative is getting a good workout , maybe that should be deleted .

What should we have instead? "Love", "Like", "Group Hug", "Kumbaya"? Let's also not allow negative comments or disagreements.

People need to grow thicker skins, I am astounded how many people here get upset by emojis.

I find the confused emoji says "I am dumb" more than anything else, in most cases. Now that we have a couple of new ones, I wonder hom many hearts I am going to break.

Ah well, we can't be sad any more now it appears we have some new options:

Thumbs down ticks most -ve boxes.

Heart-broken? Super sad?

I graduated grammer school already, I can read a source and form my own opinion.

Spelling, on the other hand, is not a skill you possess.

Actually I had a college level spelling ability in 4th grade elementary. That is what's called a typo, and it wasn't mine.

To me, negative emojis are a cop-out. Posters using them are too lazy to argue their case in opposition to what's posted.

Someone else types your posts for you?

It would be hard to keep up with the OP. He is often on 100+ posts a day. A firm  believer in quantity over quality.  Posting is his life its all he does. He even outdoes bob smith et al.

Hey Charlie, can we get rid of the anonymity of the emojis? maybe have a poll first, I'll post it if you give the nod.

I'll add that facebook and another forum i use both show who made the emojis, so it's more normal to show

Not really. Sometimes something is just so incredibly stupid that you just want to register that and either don't have time - or patience - to engage with that person as you know it would be pointless.

I certainly don't have time to write a response to every stupid comment, but I want to register that I think it's stupid. Much in the same way you can give a thumbs up or a smiley but you don't respond to every single post to say how much you like it or how much you agree with it. What's the difference?? Can't have one without the other.

Upvotes, downvotes, they are all good.

Both for me. None for you.

That typo was from another's quote. It wasn't mine. It happens sometimes when people put more than one person's replies together.

Strong disagreement from me on that idea    negative comments and disagreements are vital for a healthy discourse ,  censorship should not be necessary if the argument is convincing,   petty name calling and flame wars are all part of a robust conversation that has been going on since the days of the Bulletin Board  dial up modem days.

Too many very thin skinned easily offended persons  about nowadays

offended by  a confused or sad emoji... come on

Take away the disagreement and you quickly left with a very stale ,boring   echo chamber  IMHO

That would definitely be a positive development.

And please bring back the confused one as it said what I wanted to say without getting bogged down in a needless discussion!  The sad one I am happy to see go away and like the thumbs up/down alternative!  The point of the broken heart one I just don't get!
