And CN helping people flee tyrannical govts, oppression, and war zones is a bad thing ?

CN is China I guess. "flee tyrannical govts, oppression" you mean just like China? At least China bullies countries to take back its own refugees. May be the UK should bully France more to take back the ones crossing to the UK.

Neville Blackwood, a former UK police officer and expert in international law enforcement, was blunt in his assessment. “Nobody seems to be in fear of arrest or prosecution. It’s business as usual on the Alibaba site,” he said. “These are flimsy boats and engines that aren’t appropriate to set sail and, potentially, people could lose their lives. To advertise them is just wrong; it’s putting people’s lives at risk.”

Seriously? He's bitching about product quality? The UK is doomed. :stoner:

The Telegraph are a bit slow. The Guardian was pointing this out 4 years ago

Note the footage from the BBC.  Mercury Marine is an American make. SO are we now saying American outboard manufacturers are part of the people smuggling gig?

Its organised crime. Most of the boats are stolen (because, criminals), or from the black maket (cash only, no questions asked).

Think that falls under an obvious "user error" voiding any warranty :cheesy:

Live with your choices ... besides, sharks have to eat.  Nothing should go to waste in nature.

Not amused or wish death or harm on people, but overloading a boat in open waters ... well, you can't fix stupid.

People die every day, get over it.  It's nature.  I make fun and chuckle about my own pending death.

Was actually talking about that yesterday at dinner.   Got on the subject of when I die, and told the wife to wrap me up in plastic, the duct tape the hell out it, before putting my butt in the hole, so the worms & bugs don't get to me.

Her response ... hell no, you're going in the chipper, and then the compost pile.   Nothing goes to waste in nature.

Told the bi-atch I'm coming back to haunt her A$$ :coffee1:

Those market forces the rightwing worship are, we are told, never wrong.

That's more about setting prices and efficient use of resources.  It doesn't cover morality or legality.  That's why there always needs to be regulation.

What’s morally wrong, let alone illegal, about selling inflatable boats to people who want to buy inflatable boats?

You claimed that people say that market forces are never wrong.  This is false.  Market forces require regulation.

Good luck trying to regulate China selling inflatable boats to people who want to buy inflatable boats.

This doesn't have anything to do with what I said.  You could simply thank me for proving you with much needed insight.  🤷‍♂️
