The thing is, you cannot back that assertion with anything empirical.

I have no argument with your comment, except to say that the vast majority of comments here on AN are opinions not proven facts.

I agree but Steven100 posted a categorical statement, not an opinion.   He posted, "and everything they do involves a kickback ..."

  • Good they were annoying anyway, especially when the don’t have the no in out the front. Who need a receipt for a bootle of water?

  • That’s kind of the point — not everyone is just grabbing a bottle of water. A lot of us do full shops at 7-Eleven: groceries, personal care stuff, over-the-counter meds, etc. Sometimes it’s 10–15 item

  • Used to always get someone else's receipt.

nonsense.... TIT  .....  money talks,  or didn't you know that Lou ....       just sprouting off as usual.    Lol

There was no "nonsense" neither anything inaccurate about my comment to you, whereas your post was nothing but unevidenced speculation.  "Money talks" means nothing as evidence, neither does "sprouting off".

Receipts are still available, paper and/or app, you lot are arguing about nothing

Agree.

And I suggest there's more to consider, the ultimate global brand owner would, without any doubt, have systems in place to ensure that 100% correct records are being continuously developed for various legal reasons as well as their own strong desire to know that they are getting the correct %.

The franchise says that the ultimate brand owner gets x% of all sales - therefore the brand owner undoubtedly wants a paper / accounting trail which can be checked and provides proof they are receiving their correct %.

Getting rid of receipts is a huge cost savings for 7-11, BUT they should give one on request IMHO. I like the no receipt deal because it is very environmentally responsible. The exception is when I make larger purchases I want to make sure I get the discounts and the items were priced correctly. Sometimes I'll try to catch it on the POS digital display but 1 out of 10 times at 7-11 something is messed up. Either the discount or promotion isn't applied or the cashier makes a mistake and scans an item twice.

So standard, you are happy to get your goods rung up on the till and don't want a receipt to check if the sale especially a large one with multiple items  is correct or not in order to save the world and decrease the world's tempeture..Then I am sorry to say that  you must have more money than sense.

I went to my 7 yesterday.

I inserted my All-Member number into their machine.

I then still got a nice printed receipt.

Plus an extra  piece of paper, dunno for what.

They did remove the trash bin for the receipts,  though. But they have a new staff: the most beautiful girl I have seen in years.

Did you say you were a member, and give them your phone number or QR code?

I gave them my wife's member number. So yes, they give the 'receipt' in the app. Which means you can look at it later, but you can't see the prices as they're ringing it up. It's a 'mystery' until you open the 7-Eleven app (which is all in Thai) and check the receipts.

  • 2 weeks later...

I always get a receipt at 7/11. Additionally I also see the total amount on the display clearly.

A young lady - I guess it was here firs day there - once didn't hand it out automatically. I asked and got it.
