Political Implications:

These victories underscore Reform UK's emergence as a formidable force in British politics, challenging the traditional dominance of Labour and the Conservatives. Farage has positioned the party as the new opposition, capitalizing on public dissatisfaction with mainstream parties. The party's focus on issues like immigration and economic reform resonates with a segment of the electorate seeking alternatives to established political narratives. While the first-past-the-post electoral system presents challenges for smaller parties, Reform UK's recent successes indicate a growing influence that could reshape future political contests in the UK.

Fortunately there won't be a General Election until 2029, so plenty of time for Labour to regroup and Reform to be found out.   Farage doesn't have a hope of ever being PM.

One mid-term flash in the pan by-election doth not make a new PM.

I don't see much hope at all for the UK or it's future. Gdp basically flat since 2007.

Action was needed 15 to 20 years ago.

Ignoring the 2007 pre-financial crisis peak, the graph shows a steady increase.......sadly BREXIT decimated any real chance of a significant increase in GDP

France, Germany and Italy have worse growth forecasts than the UK. Is that because they stayed in the EU?

3.09 to 3.34 over 18 years is hardly a steady increase. But nice try.

That's what they said about Trump never being President in 2016, up to the voters

A flash in the pan, it is like a lot of BI- Elections the Liberals do well, then come the general election and they still end up with their 10-20 seats.

What was it David Steel said after one convicting bi election win, not so far from a general election "Go home and prepare for government ", the following election, same result,10-20 seats.

The UK press is loving it, listen to today's Radio 4's Today program. they said above, it is the Red Top's having a field day.

Good job, speaks for many, hopefully he takes control and the UK rids itself of the woke <deleted>

Only morons, muslims, trans nutters, teachers and those just having had a lobotomy would still vote Labour😁

IF a general election were called this month I think that Reform would win by default. IMHO neither the Labour or the Conservatives seem to have any policies that are attractive to the voters, the Lib-Dems and Greens don't seem to have any policies at all which doesn't leave any other options than Reform, who don't seem to be any better than the rest, but at least they cannot be blamed for for the state that the UK is currently in.

Tory’s are toast ,, 3rd after the greens,,voters won’t vote for an ethnic PM ,Boris was their last chance

Not a fan of Farage , brilliant orator when explaining things simply but when he gets close  to power everything seems to fall apart ???

It all depends on how Reform use their new power, if they show to be competent, they will smash the next election

Kemi is a weak leader, nice lady, but not to run a party like the Tories

'Nice lady'? Perhaps you know her personally in which case, I'll bow to your superior knowledge. My impression is that she is so confrontational she could start a row in an empty room.

The only way Reform will be beaten is if Labour manage to stop the hundreds of fighting age men from landing on UK beaches every day, and send back the thousands who already arrived.

All Labour have done so far is encourage more to come. As soon as they ripped up the Rawanda plan the migrants started coming in even higher numbers, breaking all records.

Labour (and Tories) have been too soft on the economic migrants, allowing the ECHR to block deportations, even for convicted criminals including rapists.

There is no deterrent, and on the contrary the fake asylum seekers get treated like holidaymakers. It's a massive incentive for economic migrants.

If this continues then I truly believe Reform will win the next election.

But it isn't.

The writing was on the wall at the general election; the apathy/Tory incompetence that saw Labour elected has manifested itself into something that is bigger than just a protest vote.

Anything stronger would likely place Reform in the Tommy Robinson camp and that is too far right  -  and unelectable.

I remember it was much the same talk about the SDP.

At least that was a Gang of Four. Reform is still a One Man Band.

Totally irrelevant....what might the UK's have been if we had stayed in......worse???? No way.

Unfortunately the population is not flat due to mass immigration so GDP per capita is actually decreasing. That's why everyone is getting poorer.
