Definitely need to see a couple of the best eye doctors around.

They can do wonders these days, but you need the best.

In my case I had eye problems which turned out to be many floaters in the right eye. Specialist said they are small calcification in the white of the eye and he could do an op. that removes the white part and the floaters. (I'm fairly sure that's what he said).

So drs can do wonders, but you have to get THE BEST.

As an example: I had 3 previous back operations from well recommended professors from a large hospital in my home country. Last year my 4th back operation, where afterwards the Specialist said very sorry but the previous operations were incorrect and he undid previous work and inserted rods and screws to put the curve back in my lumbar region.

Also he said can't fix the neuropathy. I challenger this and he sent me for another test. Test results = no neuropathy.

So find the best specialists, then pick the best out of the bunch.

Yes & pick the one you feel most comfortable with.

What was the procedure you had to remove the floaters?

Did they use an hf laser...?

Floaters still there, but not as bad as before.

Dr said I have very good vision and wanted to wait 6 months to see if the floaters fall down to the bottom of the eye, which they tend to do.

So not 6 months yet.

My sight is declining day by day hard to watch TV or even read AN

On your pc, perhaps you could try

Settings

Ease of Access

High Contrast

It works for me on AN, but you need to turn it off if you use another app.

High Contrast does not work that well when I use Libre Office.

How old are you? I know at 83 my eyesight has deteriorated so that I no longer read books because of eyes strain, also watching the 55 inch TV can become blurry, it's actually better to watch a smaller screen like a 42 inch. Had eyes checked several time at Bkk/Pattaya hospital, once was told needed a cataract op, next time a different doctor said my eyes were OK. Who do you trust?

While loosing eyes is the last thing you want, I got two cataracts removed by Rutnin and my vision cleared up immediately. Recommended.

Consider taking supplements for eyes.

https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/lutein-and-zeaxanthin

Lutein and zeaxanthin are powerful antioxidants that promote eye health.

I agree, macular degeneration is reportedly the biggest problem for eye failure in elderly and begins earlier inlife.  I used to wear reading glasses at age 47 and then noted an article about macular degeneration and luitin-zeaxanthin supplements.  Got them began taking daily - after 6 weeks I no longer needed the reading glasses and only began using them again 20 years later (past couple of years) but only problem at all is reading without proper lighting, and on the golf course I can follow any ball flight  equal or better than any of the caddies and don't need for driving at 78.

Your eyes don't have to deteriorate with age, provided you look after your general health (80% what goes in your mouth - low low sugar, high on vegies & fruits ...) and 20% exercise.

I'm about to turn 76 next month. A year ago I got a new pair of glasses in Thailand, with my first eye check since arriving here permanently in late 2015. My eyes hadn't changed since my last eye test in Canberra in 1998.

Actually it is very funny in isolation as the reaction attests. Slightly insensitive maybe, but depends how you see it....

Cataracts are very common with advancing age and will have little to do with general health. Just age

Yes , many healthy foods are high in lutein and zeaxanthin i.e. apricots, fatty fish, goji berries , leafy green veggies, eggs

Why don't you go and see an eye doctor? If in Bangkok, there is Rutnin Eye Hospital.

It won't be very nice if you lose your sight. Especially if you  could have done something about it.

Rutnin Eye Hospital is absolutely world class and for this person losing their sight, worth a visit asap!

See the doctor. If worse day by day, it is something serious.

How long do you have to wait for an appointment? If more than a day or two, I would go private if possible.

I use a 44" HD TV for a monitor, which helps a lot.
