Be careful, your wife is Thai.

She's got general Tao juice running through her veins, and I've got poutine running through my Serbian sausage.

I know there are a lot of far-right Western supporters on this forum. So how do you feel about Thailand being so clearly far-right? Thai people first, immigration strictly limited, restrictive residency and citizenship laws, no support for migrants, asylum seekers etc. This must be a dream country for those complaining about the West going down the drain!

Every country in Asia has the same rules about foreigners.

So you support banning books?

Banning books means ya cant get it anywhere (except in the libraries of the elite). Where is that happening?

Thailand is liberal when it comes to various areas such as transexuals, same sex marriage, prostitution (despite what the law says), alcohol and cannabis consumption. It's definitely a hard right nation regarding non-Thais and their place in Thai society. Long-term residency or citizenship is highly unlikely to happen. Citizenship by birth is only possible if at least one parent is a Thai national. Foreigners also have little rights or protection. I'm not complaining nor is Thailand somewhere I want to live long-teem (if I did I wouldn't like how hard it is to get permanent residency), but the highly nationalistic stance does mean that Western liberals should not even consider the place as an option to reside in, unless they want to be quiet, or are happy being hypocrites.

Not agreeing to woke trans BS, censorship of opposing voices and lying media is far right?

"Far right" is simply a term used by the radical left to get attention.  Even common sense seems like a far-right concept to lefties.

'Far right' & 'Far left' are far off from reality.... worldwide IMHO

Thailand is neither, what ever they are.  Would definitely still be leaning male chauvinist society in many of the social rules & laws.  Expected dress code and required make up (appearance) for women, along with inheritance succession.

Dumb comment… Canada and Australia are more progressive than the US and have much stricter immigration policies! If by far right you mean sensible… pragmatic and not triggered. Sure!

NAILED IT.

Far right is a bit extreme, mildly right I'd say. Bring back corporal punishment.

Love Thailand, hate the Woke Australia I'm from and the Albanese government.

I feel Okay...👍

–And it's their – the Thai's – country, so their decision. I'm a guest, and I can leave if I don't like it.

–And yes, the West seems to be going down the drain – what do you, OP, then think about Japan?

Legal weed, don't care about genders, reasonable free health care, do anything and everything they want with a very light brown envelope to solve issues... How the heck do you think Thailand is "far right"? 😂😂😂😂

It always amazes me that any left-leaning foreigners would choose to live in Thailand. Maybe they quietly enjoy the way things work here.

Yes, we do. See post above 😁 What makes you think T is far right? Have you actually met real Thai people 🤣🤣

Yeah, this really is a dumb post.  Maintaining a control on the foreigners, not providing free health care to all who can get across the border, not bowing down to the world economic forum and protecting the jobs for your people...  That's what you call far right?  Pretty sad, IMHO.

What utter rubbish , restrictions on foreigners/visitors is not being far right.

Being something you don’t agree with doesn’t make it far right either.

After three years in Thailand and doing 90 days report, renewal of visa etc at no time did I think I was living in a far right country.

Sadly the UK has caved in to foreigners and asylum seekers, to the detriment of the local population. That’s a view held by many who aren’t far right, they’re just right in their thinking.

First visited Thailand in 1962. Business visits during the 1970s. Worked here in the 1980s. Married a Thai lady in 1990. Retired to Thailand in 1993. Still living in Thailand in 2025, and still happily married to my Thai wife. She is now 70 years old, I am 83.

Far-right isn't what it used to be. It used to be the Ku Klux Klan, Neo-nazis, National Front, Combat 18 etc.

Now it just seems to refer to anyone who doesn't believe in 100% of the new 'progressive liberal' ideology. Ironically, this includes the majority of liberals. 🙃

Sorry but the KKK is far left

immigration strictly limited, restrictive residency and citizenship laws,

These restrictions are chiefly countermeasure against population invasion by China.

But they apply same standard to all foreign countries in order to obscure their real aim.

You can't legally change your gender, like in the leftist West.
