Far-right isn't what it used to be. It used to be the Ku Klux Klan, Neo-nazis, National Front, Combat 18 etc.   Now it just seems to refer to anyone who doesn't believe in 100% of the new 'p

The left loves mass migration, they have to destroy all sense of community and morality to achieve their idea of utopia.

How incredibly blinkered and stupid this comment is.

Do you see how easily those can be interchanged? Childish name calling, nothing more, nothing less.

I think it is great.

I know there are a lot of far-right Western supporters on this forum. So how do you feel about Thailand being so clearly far-right? Thai people first, immigration strictly limited, restrictive residency and citizenship laws, no support for migrants, asylum seekers etc. This must be a dream country for those complaining about the West going down the drain!

Further right the better as far as I'm concerned, but I've seen nothing to convince me that this country is far right. I'm convinced the UK id far left, but I think Thailand is slightly right-leaning at most.

What far-right elements would you like Thailand to have?

What is far right anyway?

Exactly!

To add to my previous post. The term 'right' was generally used to mean conservative. Even then, does it mean economically, socially, or culturally conservative? 🤔

'Far right' is meaningless now and is simply a stick that the new 'progressive liberals' use to beat their enemies over the head with.

Pretty much the same as "radical left". Stalin was radical left, and many Western countries are radical left, but what do they have in common?

I wouldn't necessarily call it 'far-right', but rather anachronistic, or 'behind the times'; not primarily in the sense of not using modern technology, but more in a medieval sense, with backward social structures, morals, mannerisms, educational system, etc. (But with nationalism reminiscent of the early 20th century.) - Take away mobile phones, the internet, subways, and flashy shopping malls, and you could easily think you're in the 1950s, or so.

Still, different to Western countries, I don't think that there will be any 'liberal', or 'green' political party in the foreseeable future.

Authoritarian behaviour, suppression of freedom of speech / expression and the right to assembly, obsession with equality of outcome (equity) at all costs, imprisonment of political dissidents...

Thai people aren’t left or right   they just respect the Constitution. Believe me, the Thai Constitution written by the King is the best one.

The same can be said of the far-right Hitler. Even the equity (each to their own)

Totally agree with your first point but got to quibble with the second. The whole purpose of National Socialism was to create a hierarchical, militaristic, unequal class-based society.

That's how they perceived equity and social justice

Yes. Thank you pointing out and confirming exactly what I was talking about in the first place which was lefty use of far right

It's called democracy

Technically the government calls it "Thailand-Styled Democracy" to distinguish it from "Western-styled democracy."

The far right is much less extreme as opposed to the far left.

I just think it is hilarious that so many left wing socialist/communist think they are escaping their repressive right wing governments to "free" Thailand because they saw someone walking down a tourist corridor smoking weed and ladyboys are tolerated.  How little they know about Thai politics or society.  How fast do they figure it out and move their leftist woke BS back to their home countries?

Thailand's government IS on the right wing side of the spectrum.

I'm not Thai so it doesn't really bother me.

It would if I was Thai.

As far impact on immigration, well, I'm not an immigrant so it's a matter of following their visa rules which I've been able to handle up till now.

If later I can't, there are other countries.

Thailand, far-right?

This country is simply  bit more cautious, in order to defend own sovereignty.

Why they have to carelessly accept even Fake Refugees from the land of aliens?

As well demonstrated in European nations(incl. UK), it will eventually undermine own country's right of

self-determination.

And once any countries ended up like that, it is impossible to turn the tide later.

So in terms of stance toward Asylum Seeker, Thailand is mostly doing the right thing.

Just like Poland(which is also quite careful & strict in the way they grant Refugee Status).

This way, they are free from the foreign terrorists' threat/mass crime rings, while some foreign gangs exist in this kingdom as well(but they are still under control).

When they bring 3rd world people, they also bring their problems as well.

Any countries better only accept foreigners who are willing to respect the laws and moral code of the host countries.

Not fast I'm afraid.
