A complete lack of planning from the authorities who want millions of tourists but can't build a public convenience for the most basic of human needs.

Look at the condition of the sidewalks.  Based on this, why would anyone expect toilets?

It is a problem for old people like me, I need to have a plan most days Im at home but I do go down to the beach early morning, so I make sure I go to the toilet before we go and I think when was last time I had a crap, That new mini shopping mall in Rawai has got some very nice clean toilets and then Amazon have clean toilet, so Im ok if Im in Rawai,

Sunday we like to go shopping, we go makro they have clean toilets and then in Central I have it worked out where the toilets are,

They should have toilets and showers for the tourist on the beaches Im sure they wouldnt mind paying 10 baht or 20 baht for a shower,

Totally agree, and that is pretty much the case all over Thailand. Even if you'd find a public toilet, they are usually filthy, smelly and simply disgusting. About time to use some of the tourist income and show some appreciation, but there are too many deep pockets and never-ending greed, which doesn't exactly help. However it should be up to the locals to make it happen and raise standards to a civilized level for their own good.

Thailand needs public toilets throughout the country . They need to be attended 24/7 in tourist areas and kept to a hygienic state unlike the majority of many bars and some restaurant toilets . Thai authorities must be turning a blind eye . They need to have toilets to a standard that is equal to the main Thai airports facilities which also cater for disabled folks . Paying a small fee to support the costs would be acceptable by the majority of tourists .

Thailand needs to raise the bar and standards in general .

I think some of the restaurants down at Nai Harn beach allow people to use their toilets for a small fee.

But they created that fairly large parking area which houses a street market in high season, there should be a toilet there.

There is a toilet block along the side of the reservoir which I think was donated by the rotary club. It’s not in particularly good condition now despite being relatively new. Same old problem always in Thailand, no on going maintenance

Agrée that more trash receptacles and toilets would be welcome, but one thing that I discovered years ago as a biker is that wats are always a good place to stop if you need a toilet. And wats are everywhere.
