You guys still listen to analogue radio?

  • I'm sure you are one of those who can answer that question yourself

I just learned that the Flashback presenter Bill Rollins, to whom I listen every Friday night because of his Beach Boys slot, and who invites emails to ask for requests, died six months ago. No wonder

Anyone know why Pattaya FM103 has gone off the air

It's hot and cold.....on air, off air.

It only has to look like rain and the FM Signal goes down.

I'd say it needs a lot of money spent on the hardware, it's often reported that a lightning strike took the signal down.

Could do with some surge protection.

its up for sale

I'm sure a year or two ago it was reported on 103 all FM licenses in Thailand would not be renewed or something similar

Good luck with the sale

Lots of weird things going on.

The evening shows, Emperor Roscoe etc no longer, it's all just music and adds.

I was listening the other morning, Wednesday I think, around 4am.

I was listening to the radio announcers pre recording for that mornings show (9 to 12 noon), it's all pre recorded now.

Yes, setting it up is too much messing about.

Don't you simply download the App, BBC Sounds, LBC, Classic FM or whatever you want, or one of the International Radio App, onto your PC, phone or tablet, and off you jolly well go?

And then switching on data on my phone and then Bluetooth and pairing.... all irrelevant really as my truck radio doesn't have Bluetooth. I firmly believe my phone should be left in my pocket while driving.....

On a mobile phone listen to Radio Caroline.co.uk

Ok, and is that one also up for sale? Have problems? A local radio station, or anything else that is related to this topic?

In my case, data is always switched on on my phone. It does not use any Mobile data unless WiFI is unavailable. Bluetooth is always on and paired to the radio in my 'old' Toyota truck. The phone is held in a holder, visible from my driving position, and any calls can be controlled from the steering wheel.

Fiddling with the car radio, changing stations or volume, can be just as distracting as doing the same on your phone, or on the built in info systems in most modern cars, which can be even more distracting, eg checking tyre pressures, fuel consumption etc etc.

Caroline Flashback when there are no presenters, just continuous music, LBC for a bit of Chat & debate, and Classic FM to go to sleep with. Heaven.  PC or phone.
