In a harrowing incident, a former Thai dancer was forced to leap from her dormitory to escape her violent boyfriend. The 27-year-old woman, known as Aomsin, suffered severe injuries after being assaulted by her partner, who used a knife to cut her legs and stab her foot.

The events unfolded on 24th May in Udon Thani. Aomsin's mother, Supinya Akkadee, informed the media about her daughter's ordeal, which included being beaten repeatedly and threatened.

The violence erupted after the woman discovered her boyfriend's infidelity. The 26-year-old perpetrator not only assaulted Aomsin but also stole her Oppo smartphone and room key card.

Aomsin had been in the relationship for a little over two months. Initially, their relationship seemed caring, but it quickly turned abusive, culminating in the recent brutal attack.

Fleeing from the escalating violence, Aomsin managed to escape and seek help, later reporting the incident to the police in Phen District, Udon Thani.

Further investigations revealed that the accused had a history of abusing women, often while intoxicated, and was known for his jealous behaviour.

Were all these attacks just as common in the past and we didn't have the media exposure we have now, or is the world just getting angrier. Or a little of both?

This is a great question.   I mean, we just read about a policemans son that beat his actress girlfriend, obviously  use to getting his way. It would appear at every turn these days another lady assaulted or worse in the media.  Do they not realise  the consequences, or is there a revolving door that they only see if put away?

Jealousy is most common reason ... and yeah what do you expect if your girlfriend is a lapdancer?? He should not go into a relation with her in the first place.. Of course I don't approve what he has done

I think in Thailand it is the same as the rest of the world.

The below artickle is about work force but it also aplies to everything.  Consider that there is no punishment in schools.  Schools are more interested in hiding student abuse than taking action.

Kids are babied and covered for by mommy and daddy or the community.

"It would appear at every turn these days another lady assaulted or worse in the media"

Also, there seems to be an alarming increase in the reports of people being attacked/mugged by "transgender females", and "turf war" type fights between groups of these "individuals". (We still call them "ladyboys", but I suppose in this PC world, that's not allowed any more in the media - MODS on here can probably explain)

What happens to these "individuals"? Fined 500 baht tea money, and then let back on the street to carry on as before I suppose.

It's not a " great question"! It's a lazy cliche.
