A young Indian man has been arrested for the armed robbery of a currency exchange store in Bang Rak, Bangkok, where he allegedly stole nearly 100,000 baht. The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Aman, initially denied the accusations but later confessed to spending the money on nightlife activities.

On 27th May, Thai police led by Lieutenant General Siam Boonsom apprehended Aman, who had reportedly used a firearm and a motorcycle to carry out the crime.

The incident took place on 26th May when Aman allegedly entered a currency exchange on Silom Road, threatened staff with a gun, and made off with approximately 93,000 baht after his initial attempt at another store proved unsuccessful.

Police investigations included reviewing CCTV footage, which showed the suspect's appearance and getaway. After further examination, officers tracked Aman to an apartment in the Samre district, where he was arrested.

While Aman denied the charges at first, the police found clothing matching the description from the crime, the getaway motorcycle, and approximately 50,000 baht of the stolen money.

Aman confessed to acting alone and using the money for recreational activities during the night. He is now facing legal proceedings for armed robbery and related offences.

well now he will be having freebies though not the way he was planning I guess.  Lock him away for a few years  then send him home.

It doesn't say which currency exchange he robbed.

If it is one of the independent like Super Rich  > straight to prison.

If it was one of the Thai banks > justified. Free to go.

A robber robbing the robbing banks should not be a crime.

Or a house in Isaan. How much do they go for? This guy would be set for life, but should have checked for CCTVs.

Did he pinch some straws from 7/11 so he could share the booty with his 4 mates?🙃🙃

I am sure he will enjoy the LBs in prison...they will have fun taking turns on him.

Put him a Thai cell with a few friends for six months, he can have some activities where he doesn't have to pay...

then deport him

I can't imagine any exchange not having " working " cctv unless they short changed you then they may be broken

He spent the money on night time activities ah well at least he didn't waste it

Got to give the police here some credit, they track down the perps of these kind of crimes pretty quickly.

Wow this idiot managed to make 9300 per year that's as long as he gets a nice judge let's hope he rots in the Hilton and another quality tourist from India.

The quality tourist finally are arriving?  What is wrong with these  people? Do they really believe they can get away with this?

Is that what LBs are known to do (in your mind) while incarcerated in Thai prisons?  Another myth.
