Congratulations

But probably the damage already done.

You will probably get Cancer in the next few years and please don't take that the wrong way...be a realist that's all I beg of you

The wards are full of oncology patients who used to smoke marijuana

Mr. Doom & Gloom. Please don't take this the wrong way but you'll probably get cancer in the next few years? How do you take that the right way? Many people who smoke weed also smoke cigarettes, and that's the main cause of possible cancer.

I don't know anyone that smokes both!

I've never smoked tobacco, but I do smoke cannabis.

got to die of something ...

... Live with your choices 😎

I entirely agree. Until recently I smoked 2 packs a day, drank a fair bit, and generally led a rather dissolute private life. Now 83 years old and smoking just 1 small cigar a day, no alcohol, and living quietly with my Thai wife.

Not particularly

I see people everyday that need to be "reminded" of their reality

Of course I don't tell them ,well not all the time

I remember my late father back in 1997 kicking me out of his house after i told him he probably only has less than 10 years left after all his cigarettes ,"get out ,out " you can't wait till I die to get the bloody house '!!

he shouted

And I was right he actually died 5 years later from Cancer

So you started this nasty habit with your own father, and still at it now. Talking to your dad that way I'm seeing where you learned it, You think it's your "job" to tell others, to remind them, that they'll die in a certain amount of years, when you have absolutely no idea of either theirs or your own expiration date?

Thankyou for your service Sir

Many of my friends and family smoked both. I tried cigarettes a few times at 16, and when I split a pack with a friend in an couple hours time, how it made me sick ended cigarette smoking permanently. Weed was occasional throughout the years, after 21.

No more of a nonsense than you stating that oncology wards are "full of those who used to smoke"

Many with cancer have never smoked and I would suggest that  non smokers outnumber the smokers in the oncology wards

That is probably true.

Still going through some of that for the H Pylori treatment 7 months ago. . Yogurt, collagen, kimchi, probiotics along with basically a healthy diet. Good luck!

Yes, good suggestion. Gut microbiome took a hit.

Thanks!

I went and bought a 2.2 metre satellite dish...

Had to screw all the bits together, took an hour but quite easy.  Mounted on my garden wall.  Connected up the feedhorn and cables to my laptop.  Then tried to find the satellite signal by slowly moving the dish left/right and up/down in the general direction of the satellite. Couldn't find the damn thing and it was too hot to continue...

Came back at 6am the next day to try again.  No sun, but no signal...

Came back this morning at 6am and finally found the satellite signal.  Adjusted everything and locked all the nuts and bolts so that it can't move in the wind.

Why such a big satellite dish for satellite TV?  It's not to receive satellite TV, but to receive images from a South Korean weather satellite 35,000 km out in space🙂  (Yes I know that I can just look up at the sky to see what the weather is like, but I like to make things more challenging!  That round feedhorn in the middle is actually a metal ice bucket that I bought in Laos ...)

Living the dream

Living the dream

More interesting than propping up a bar, trying to drown my liver or chatting up some ugly tart who probably has a todger twice the size of mine.....

A very trying week for me. My ol' chum is near meeting his maker, amazingly he has been like this for nearly a year. Skin and bones, confined to his bed.

I have been taking care of his paperwork for a few years now, he has not been capable of anything.

He got a letter from UK pensions that his pension had been stopped because he never sent back his life certificate, a certificate he never received........😧

His wife called me up to sort it, so went to his bedside and phoned DWP, surprisingly I got through to an agent in about 20 minutes. Then the fun and games started. The lady only wanted to talk to him to get his payment sent.

He is now near blind and doesn't understand much that is being said to him, but he had to answer security questions himself.....😱

It will take too long to tell you how long it took me and the agent to get through it, but in the end she went away and came back in about 5 minutes, obviously a conflab with the boss.

She said we will send his pension, we will give him 10 more weeks to return the signed LC form enclosed.

"OK, thank you"... I said. But now the problem, he can barely see or coordinate his had to sign the form. So I printed off a load of forms, it was no use, I placed his hand with the pen point in the allotted space, he kept moving it way to the left, then created a mess that was nothing like his signature.

I went home and had a think about it. 🤔

I took out a dark photo page from a magazine, used a box cutter to cut out a slot the same size as the boxes on the forms.  Took it round to his house to try again, put my page with the slot on the sign here box. I asked, "Can you see the white slot ?..."Yes"..."Know sign your name in that white slot"..

He did it in one go, the second page needed the same, he did it, not perfect, but I think we got away with it. Was sent off to DWP, waiting to see what happens.

His, our problem is, his passport runs out next year, and he is getting worse by the day regarding signing, though in my opinion, he may move on before that, at 83 he has done well, at 3 years old his mum was told he was going to die, burnt in a fire, at 57 years old, had a brain Hemorrhage.

He's done well............:clap2:

AI disagrees with you.

There isn’t strong evidence to suggest that quitting cannabis directly leads to cancer. However, studies have explored the long-term effects of cannabis use on cancer risk. Some findings indicate that habitual cannabis smoking may be linked to certain cancers, such as lung cancer and testicular germ cell tumors. The risk is often associated with how cannabis is consumed, particularly when smoked, as it exposes users to carcinogens similar to those found in tobacco.

On the other hand, stopping cannabis use can lead to withdrawal symptoms, but these are typically temporary and do not include an increased cancer risk. If you’re concerned about health risks after quitting, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including regular check-ups, can help mitigate potential concerns.

What about cannabis oil and cancer.?

Indeed, or snake oil and cancer?

Rough week.

Surgery and recovering from surgery.

Fever was getting high, but went away next day.

Stomach in agonizing pain for 3 days due to anti-biotics prescribed. Gut microbiome must be all destroyed now. Goddarn anti-biotics.

kefir, "live/active" kimchi and sauerkraut (found only in the refridgerated type ! )

pill forms or probiotics  .. mostly useless

do your best to avoid carbs or anything that will contain or turn to sugar .  that just feeds the "bad" bacteria

while collagen does not replace the microbiome ..  it helps repair the gut lining

natural , bio available collagen ( the kind that breaks down for the body to use as amino acids comes from things like bone broth, chicken skin and cartilage, oysters and fatty red meat

A nonsense question. Of course all people suffering from cancer, from whatever cause, will likely finish up in hospital unless they choose otherwise.

Hospital is a bad place to end up if you have cancer; they have no choice but to prolong it as long as they can. If it is done, then when ‘tis done, ‘tis well it were done quickly.

Mmmmm...I beg to differ

They start them on the morphine then it increases and then they tell you to say your goodbyes

I hope you are right, but I don’t trust them.  They not only have a Hippocratic obligation to look after you, but a commercial one as well.  When morals and commerce are on the same side, common sense and compassion face an uphill battle.

Last week I won a small step in my migration process, a small advance in my battle with the tax man, and a major defeat, as well as realising that I had misreckoned the magnitude of my latest career misjudgement.  Some you lose, some they win.

I've known a few Thai people die from cancer. Certainly no hospital stay or morphine. When it was diagnosed as terminal they were sent home and deal with whatever came next.

Thailand isn't Australia with palliative care in my limited experience.
