Well, you do need to vote and take sides.

But then it starts to become a bit ridiculous when you bash everything the other side does and never acknowledge any positive policies.

  • Wow, what a profound answer. I can see you've given that a lot of thought.

  • Only if the leftists commies get their way

I never really understood two quotes I learned in school. Then Trump took over the country. Now, not only can I understand, I can even internalize them.

'Nero fiddled while Rome burned.'

'Let them eat cake.'

Yes. Most definitely. Trump is taking a wrecking ball to the pillars of American power and innovation. His tariffs are endangering U.S. companies’ access to global markets and supply chains. He is slashing public research funding and gutting our universities, pushing talented researchers to consider leaving for other countries. He wants to roll back programs for technologies like clean energy and semiconductor manufacturing and is wiping out American soft power in large swaths of the globe.

China’s trajectory couldn’t be more different.

Trump is destroying the US economy one step at a time. It could be intentional. It could be diabolical. Nobody knows. He could simply be unhinged or following the dictates of a very sinister cabal.

One thing is certain. He is accomplishing very little, he will NOT bring manufacturing back to America, which is stupid over priced (I was there recently and inflation is raging at 20% or higher right now), he is causing alot of pain, he is losing support, destroying businesses, and consumer confidence, he does not have a coherent plan, and he is a destructive nimwit.

I watched more of the video and he's just another Trump basher distorting reality.

My apologies.

Let's see:

Debt $ 36 trillion, another $2.6 trillion over 10 years with the Big Beautiful Bill. Then add $1.8 trillion a year, just in interest rates.

750 military bases across the world, being augmented at taxpayer expense.

Tariffs that increase costs for all Americans.

A health system that resembles dog vomit, being cut.

A repeat of Star Wars. Against an economy which is not sclerotic, as the Soviet Union was.

What's your version of reality?

US weapons did not go into Ukraine until after Russia invaded. You are a liar.

The proposition Putin did not want to invade Ukraine is contradicted by his invasion of Crimea in 2014, and the fact he thought the West was weak and divided. He thought he could get away with it again. Another lie.

But then, lying is as easy as breathing to a Moscow shill.

Incorrect. Trump is attempting to build an Empire i.e. a State ruled by one person, in the case of Trump aiming to be "King" by removing all limitations to his authority which has been enabled by the stupidity of the Supreme Court ruling immunity for all official acts by the President.

No time to argue all your points. You bring in everything from the kitchen sink.

But the debt was inherited by Trump. Yet everyone is happy to blame Trump for everything if the US economy doesn't do well.

Tariffs that increase cost ... not that simple. Tariffs will likely have a cascade of complicated consequences ... maybe some good over the long-term. Time will tell.

Just another psyop.

I always tell my clients: "Never cash in your American dollars. Never bet against the USA."

I think the guy in the video is referring to "defaulting on the debt" as a major issue.

but secession has come up in other videos i've seen. breaking up into smaller countries. Texas is one state that might secede if it ever happens.

But did you not hear what he said right afterwards, that "default" would be nothing  new, that a lot of countries have defaulted on debt before? He's just concerned about the world economy, what would happen to the rest of the world if a default happens.

A lot of his talk is based on a misreading. For instance he castigates the presidents for accumulating the deficit. But then when Trump cuts spending he's "Sheriff of Nottingham" because he's cutting medicare and food stamps. Sorry, didn't you JUST say, that the deficit was a bad thing. But cutting it also a bad thing.

He also fails to understand that the tariffs on China were a tool to get China to the negotiation table to give the US a better deal on trade, which is happening now.

Obviously the issue is that other countries have gotten stronger. China has become a military and economic power house, so it's natural that it wouild flex its muscle in the South China sea, it's not a symptom of American decline, but rather of Chinese ascent.

Similarly Russia was revitalized and is flexing its military muscle. By the way it's also a misreading that Ukraine happened because Russia thought America was weak. That was never an issue. Since Russia knew the US could not unleash or risk a nuclear war with Russia. Rather the Ukraine war was caused precisely by the imperial ambitions of Biden and Johnson who killed off a peace deal Ukraine could have signed and seduced them to fight. Not to mention imperial misreadings of their predecessors who thought they could ignore Russia because she was finished now and enlarge NATO. It was too much imperialism by the US that was the problem, not too little.

As for the reserve currency status it is absolutely safe, there is no other contender whatsoever.

And Niall Ferguson has been wrong more times than I can remember. His paper was just designed to get the US spending more on the military and making the world safer for capitalism. Read what Ferguson wrote previously

"‘Let me come clean,’ he wrote in the New York Times Magazine in April 2003, a few weeks after the shock-and-awe campaign began in Iraq, ‘I am a fully paid-up member of the neoimperialist gang.’

https://www.lrb.co.uk/the-paper/v33/n21/pankaj-mishra/watch-this-man

What Ferguson wants is for the US to spend more on its military and to get more involved in world affairs to make the world safe for the hedge funds which pay Ferguson for his services now.

Trump added $7.8 trillion to American debt in his first term.

Fact is, every President since Calvin Coolidge has been kicking the can of American debt down the road, with F D Roosevelt as the biggest contributor.

I didn't realise America had an Empire.

Surprise! Learn something every day. For all intents and purposes, the US is becoming the textbook definition of an empire. Only the courts are preventing a total autocratic empire but they can only do so much without the power of a military force backing them up.

1. an extensive group of states or countries under a single supreme authority, formerly especially an emperor or empress.

Well, let's take a look at this.

The whole world eating more and more American food.

Everyone one dressing more and more like an American.

The whole world listening to American music.

The whole world using or copying American AI.

All commodities transactions are in USD.

America currently single-handedly restructuring global trade. What other country has the power to do this?

By far the most advanced and powerful military the world has ever seen.

A GDP that is the largest in the world, as large as the GDPs of China, Germany and India combined.

Yah. Obviously America's on the way out.

Lol.

Actually China is squeezing its allies mercilessly:

"Tanzanian President John Magufuli said the loan agreements of BRI projects in his country were "exploitative and awkward".[258] He said Chinese financiers set "tough conditions that can only be accepted by mad people," because his government was asked to give them a guarantee of 33 years and an extensive lease of 99 years on a port construction. Magufuli said Chinese contractors wanted to take the land as their own, but his government had to compensate them for drilling the project construction."

It's just the way the big dogs do business. There are no friendships among nations anyway. Only mutual interests. And America's market and military create a lot of mutual interest.

For me the most important reason, why I like a person or not, is his or her character.

It doesn't depend on the political opinion, the colour of her/his skin, the birth in a special continent (i.e. America, Asia etc). , rich or poor, scholary person or not ... the list goes on.

It made me very angry that the USA elected 2 times a criminal. The 1rst time with the minority of all US voters, already a serious joke and at the same time a giant hole in the US constitiution. This seamed to me, that it should be a condition to be chosen as a POTUS.

And now, under his 2nd presidency, he has learnt about all the potholes of the USA laws and shows his real detestable character, nearly day by day!  And as this wouln't be enough, he has no moral problems to abuse his POTUS powers. And the serious an laughing thing of the US is the low, low opposition of his REP-minions.

There are uncountable examples of how he is naming people with very ugly remarks, if they don't agree with or oppose him. In the  treal civilised world he would be punishe by the law, in the USA the impunity of a POTUS (hm, hm, hm! - LOTUS)!!) protects him against all these crimes. And one reason why this is possible lies in the fact, that the judges in the highest court are not chosen by law experts, but by the recommendation of the POTUS Trump. Result: the USA is NOT a democracy, because the 3rd power in the state, the justice, can be conntrolled by the POTUS.

There are many examples of how he is enrichung himself and some billionares. Good luck, USA.

This was so clear but western msm played everyone for simpleton fools they are.

Putin no angel but he sure af never wanted that war.

Just another American war on the poor

Really? Because from what I remember, Russia started this UK nonsense because they insisted on trying to join NATO. Which would have put huge amounts or weapons on Russias border.

If anyone remembers the Cuban crisis. With Russia trying to put nukes in Cuba. It is understandable why Russia began hostilities. They are worried to lose any advantage should there be a nuclear conflict.

It happened well over 20 years ago with the corporate / lobbyists takeover of the medical and insurance companies who have effectively crippled the average American worker.

Trump is simply the only recent president who is even attempting to steer the ship back on track and you can see by the controlled media outcry and brainwashed lemmings it's a real challenge.

The word empire is loaded but on the other hand not totally useless in describing the role of the USA especially since the end of WW2. There are other ways of describing it. For example -- dominant global hegemony.

In any case the "American empire" has overall been a positive stability promoting influence while it has lasted. Of course far from perfect but much better than any other available alternative.

As far as it's decline, that was already in a slower phase of happening already before the ascension of American autocrat Trump who rejects the role of leader of the free world.

What Trump is doing is to GREATLY ACCELERATE that decline.

What I consider enemy states such as Iran, North Korea, and Russia, etc. are celebrating that gift that the maga fascist cult has given them.

Decent Americans and traditional decent American allies realize that such rapid acceleration was unnecessary and is VERY DANGEOUS.

Now for better or worse (worse) everyone in the world is going to have to adjust to this radically different new reality.

Especially Americans.

Guy seems smart and non-partisan. He's not even American, sounds Australian.

He already mentions an interesting point.

Why did Russia invade Ukraine to begin with? Because Putin knew the US would do nothing about it.

Then mentions Trump isn't the first president to start "wrecking" the system that the US has built since WW2.

Need to run some errands. Will watch the entire video later and comment.

But if anyone else watches, pls share your comments.
