Thai authorities have raided a karaoke bar in Chonburi, finding minors exploited for sexual services amidst customer entertainment. Despite clear evidence, the owner remains defiant.

On 6th June 2025, Police Major General Songkrod Gerikkritaya instructed a task force, in collaboration with Chonburi Police, to arrest a 59-year-old woman, referred to as Ms R, on multiple charges, including trafficking minors under 18 for sex work and operating a business without a licence.

The operation, which took place in Na Pa, Chonburi, followed complaints received last year about such activities at the venue.

Undercover officers posing as customers negotiated sexual services with two girls, aged 15 and 16, at 2,500 baht each, with an additional 1,000 baht broking fee per customer paid to the establishment.

During the raid, evidence collected included condoms, cash used in sting operations, and other business documents. The arrested owner, however, denies the charges, and the case is set to proceed through legal channels.

Authorities are providing assistance to the rescued young girls to assess them as potential trafficking victims.

Tea money is a bitch to count when mostly coins  🤫

Seeing their faces on the photo, I'm not sure that the rescued young girls are "potential trafficking victims". . . :coffee1:

Yeah, must be that they wanted the girls to have time to get some experience, right? 😂

Burn to the ground, no excuses for kid stuff.

18 is hardly kids stuff!. The AOC in Thailand is 16 and in England 16 and in France until recently was 13. Americans seems to have a very puritanical attitude towards sexual relationships and P4P in general. She should be arrested for Karoke though.

Caught red handed and the usual Thai Muppets response is deny, deny and deny so he can get the bribes lined up and be back in business tomorrow..

Yes, it would appear they  let things run for at least 6 months!

"Under 18" not 18.   18 is the legal limit for prostitution.

Ms R' turns out to be Ms W' as no one can pronounce it 🤔

As I read the headline, I assumed that the raid would yield no crime being committed on the 'forewarned is forearmed' policy.  I was amazed that criminality was discovered, until I read it took the police at least six months to check it out.
