I spent several months around Bean Town in the early 80’s.  Working at the Quincy Shipyard.  Many of the old school shipyard guys who built carriers and subs during WW2 were still there.  Great people and the local lunch places were great also.

If i understand the rules, the national guard can only be deployed when requested by local authorities, not the feds.

U.S, law allows the President to federalize (bring under federal control) the National Guard of a states without the request or even agreement of the state governor.  The President can thereby order National Guard units into action or to "stand down," with their place taken by federal troops.

No.  Federal activation has occurred in the past. Even if the governor activates the NG Federal governemt can wrestle control away.  Even Gov Gavin tweeted as much and said "no need" but he knew he could not stop it.

Ah, the Palisades Fire.  How quickly Mayor Bass has put it on the back burner (sorry, bad pun). There have been virtually zero building permits granted since then, as her/the lefty bureaucracy gums things up for people who want their lives back.  This is a true scandal that gets no attention. 

She needs to stay in her lane. Run the city.

The weird thing is the State, Cities and the county of LA will probably ask for Federal money to pay for police overtime and other costs.   I have seen this happen many times before.  It goes like this : We the local government do not like it when immigration laws are actually enforced but if the Federal government is handing out money our arms are wide open.
