A bizarre yet entertaining moment caught on TikTok is captivating audiences, as a young man's peculiar antics at a Phuket traffic intersection have sparked widespread amusement. Shared by TikTok user Pond, the video showcases this enigmatic individual at a red light on Wichit Songkhram Road in Kathu subdistrict, where he whimsically pretends to drive behind a grey sedan.

As the traffic light turns green, the sedan heads toward Prince of Songkla University, and the young man comically chases after it, only to halt at the university's entrance. This unusual performance has quickly become a hit among local netizens, who can't help but chuckle at his offbeat behaviour.

Comments from amused viewers abound, with some noting, "I see this guy all the time at the intersection," and others joking about his "driving skills." One comment humorously remarked on his speed: "He's got great initial power, but his final power is weak!" Another quipped, "Did he fill up with 95 or 91 petrol?"

Pond, the original poster, provided more insights, revealing that this isn't an isolated incident. The young man is often seen standing at the red light, occasionally talking to himself or waiting. On the day captured in the video, around 4 pm, Pond witnessed him dash behind the grey sedan, mimicking a driver when the light turned red.

The man's consistency is noteworthy. The following day, he was spotted wearing a blue raincoat, repeating his routine at the same intersection, once again running after a car when the light shifted to green.

While many enjoy the lightheartedness of the "phantom driver," some have expressed genuine concern for his well-being, speculating about underlying issues given his seemingly confused state. Whether this behaviour stems from a quirky ritual or something more profound remains unclear, but the "phantom driver" continues to both baffle and amuse those who encounter him regularly at the crossing.

The phenomenon not only highlights the power of social media to bring attention to everyday oddities but also serves as a gentle reminder of the diversity of characters that make up community life.
