Even if booked weeks before departure, the airports and airspace is closed, so the flights got cancelled. Israeli tourists have caused just as much trouble as Brits, Aussies, Koreans, Chinese and Indians, probably less actually.
Getting so blind drunk that he is so out of control and becomes unconscious is utterly idiotic - to do so and become unconscious in the middle of a car park is extreme to say the least - so those suggesting he brought this upon himself are not incorrect.
But, its also concerning that we have such drivers on the road that are so blind they cannot see a body in front of them in a well lit car park - one could argue that someone so oblivious to their surroundings should not be driving at all.
This is another one of those 'Thailand situations' where two wrongs combine with horrible results - had just one of the parties been 'sensible' this would not have occurred just like so many other events we read about.
I'm trying to follow the treadstarter
Who will still be famous decades after their death. Sugar Ray will be remembered by those who is interested in boxing, while Ali was bigger than life. Forman as well, but still, Ali is the one who goes in to the history books for more than boxing
The written test is not as important as a test of actual driving skill and behaviour on the roads, particularly for your own citizens.
What about that DLT?
The trouble with this whole smart-arsy discussion is the usual Western 'cultural superiority' syndrome.
Doesn't seem to occur to most of the commentators above that 'IQ' as measured by 'IQ tests' is a measure of what is important in 'Western' cultures, namely abstract thought & logic & reading ability.
So where does that leave people like the older members of my Khmer peasant family who have never been to school, have never learned to read & write, don't know what a world map is that I pinned on the wall of the new house I built for them a decade ago etc etc. Does that mean they're 'stupid'? 'dumb'? unable to get thru life successfully? ...
Well, it would be interesting to see who would cope better in the rice paddies and in other food-production processes following a major war that cut all international & many intra-country supply lines. I wonder who would be laughing then?
What Trump got was an enormous blast of humiliation as only 8,700 people showed up to the parade, while millions upon millions were protesting throughout the US. It goes to show you how his supporters feel and how his opponents feel doesn't it?
