snoop1130 Posted Wednesday at 10:17 AM Posted Wednesday at 10:17 AM Picture courtesy of KhaoSod In the early hours of this morning, a car accident took a tragic turn when a vehicle lost control and crashed into a residential house near Soi Seri Thai 16 in Khlong Kum, Bueng Kum, Bangkok. The alarming incident was reported at approximately 5.30am, today, and quickly drew the attention of local police and emergency responders. Arriving on the scene, responders were met with a shocking sight: a red Toyota two-door car, bearing Bangkok registration, in a disastrously ruined state. The vehicle had violently collided with a two-storey wooden house, resulting in significant damage. Sadly, one man was pronounced dead at the scene. His body had been ejected from the car, tragically landing with his head submerged in a nearby drainage ditch. Another individual within the vehicle sustained severe injuries and was trapped in the mangled wreckage. Emergency services acted swiftly to extract him, rushing him to hospital where he now receives crucial medical attention. Preliminary investigations indicate that excessive speed was a likely factor, causing the driver to lose control before crashing into the house. Currently, the police are examining CCTV footage to piece together the moments leading up to the crash. They also intend to speak with the house owner and the injured survivor to gain a clearer understanding of the circumstances surrounding this devastating incident. As the community comes to terms with the accident's impact, questions and concerns circulate regarding road safety and the prioritization of speed controls. Police presence in the area has been increased as a precaution, reassuring residents of their commitment to public safety during their ongoing investigation. With darwinian prowess, someone has removed themselves from the gene pool... One glance - just one fleeting look - at the car, particularly the wheels is enough to infer what likely transpired... Somewhere between Fast & Furious and Flat-Out effing Stupid, a young gladiator of the asphalt has executed a flawless entry into the annals of Darwin Award lore.... With breathtaking efficiency and zero regard for physics, he has heroically yeeted himself out of the gene pool, sparing future generations from inherited idiocy... Truly, natural selection at its most cinematic.... RIP to the fella, condolences to his family, but really, its so fortunate he didn't take out any innocent victims.... 6 1 1

Police aren't present in Thailand so if some <deleted> wants to go racing on the roads that's on you to not get hit and die. No pity. 1 2

KhunBENQ Posted yesterday at 02:15 AM Posted yesterday at 02:15 AM One of many who died same day without making headlines. Just good that no one in the house was injured(?). If your house is at the road: sturdy wall or tank barriers. 1
KhunBENQ Posted yesterday at 02:19 AM Posted yesterday at 02:19 AM Thrown out of the car. As usual. Not thrown out wearing seat belts would be more newsworthy. 2

Seems like the choice not to wear a seatbelt was a voluntary one. 1

He did not make the choice to be in a fatal accident, seatbelt or not, but nowhere has it been confirmed that a seatbelt was not being worn.. 3

Don't be silly - someone got thrown out of a vehicle and you will only believe a seatbelt wasn't worn if its 'written in print in a web-article' ????... hmmmm... The passenger or the driver (it doesn't say which) - was thrown out of the vehicle, whomever it was, made a choice not to wear a seatbelt. If it was the passenger (who was thrown out), he also made the choice to get into the car which had racing slicks and a driver was likely known for 'speeding'... Of course, that is NOT in the article, so you can cherry-pick apart that comment for response... but in doing so - you'll be simply conforming to pedantic habit..

The issue with LL is that IF something is not stated in a poorly written or poorly researched web-article, he will not accept that it happened... and use that to pick-apart anyone else's comments... Someone gets thrown out of a vehicle in an accident - its pretty obvious they were not restrained... But, if an article doesn't say that, LL will argue it.

Absolutely mate, Mrs LL (if there actually is one) has my deepest sympathy, can just imagine them at mealtimes if she hasn't explained 100% what the food is!!!!! 😀
impulse Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago If it's modified for the strip, I'd be surprised if there's even a passenger seat, much less a seatbelt on that side.
