Trump said Vietnam's goods imported to the US would face a 20% tariff, lower than the 46% tariff he had levied as part of his "Liberation Day" plans but higher than the blanket 10% tariff currently in effect. He also said Vietnamese goods would face a higher 40% tariff "on any transshipping" — when goods shipped from Vietnam originate from another country, like China.

 

Trump said that US goods exported to Vietnam would not face a tariff.

"In other words, they will 'OPEN THEIR MARKET TO THE UNITED STATES,'" Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Nike have 50% of their footwear manufactured in Vietnam. Since April, when Trump started his mad game of tariffs, up until today a 10% import tariff was levied on all Nike imports from Vietnam.

 

With the trade "deal" that tax will double to 20%, and this is how that market cheered the doubling of the import tax.

Trump is such a dummy with his tariffs, shafting poor countries the US depends on for cooperation in the region, hurting US companies etc. Places will turn away and do more business with others, chiefly China.

What should also not be forgotten is that it's the Americans who are paying these tariffs.

What those MAGA boys don't get their head around is that until now inflation has remained low because of Trump's TACO's

It's not because on Monday tariffs are announced that on Tuesday inflation will go up, it will take a few months to reflect in the figures, and as you can see, the figures from the previous 2 months have already been revised

Trump's TACO's have created massive imports before the tariffs were in place, so what today is on the shelves is stock from before April.

 

Now let's see if he does another TACO on July 9, and if the Big Ugly Bill passes the house in its current version, but I think You ain't seen nothin' yet.
