Need new tyres for Mitsu Triton after 10 years

Featured Replies

The Triton has only done just over 20,000 klms in 10 years but the tyres are starting to develop some cracking, so need replacing.

Wondering if I can put on something like Yokohama road tyres ( 3590 baht each ) instead of the heavy duty Bridgestone Dueller tyres that are on now? The pickup is only 2 wheel drive, so no need for off roaders.

If he Load and Speed Ratings are at least as per your handbook then yes.

i had yokohama on my mgzs, 30,000km they went out of round and made a horrible noise, all had to be replaced,

10 years is a long time for tyres, my triton when purchased had 1 year old tyres, so maybe yours are older than 10years, I have deestone 265/65/17 on it now, they seem good

What size?

Were it me, driving just 2,000 km per year, I would buy the cheapest tires that fit.

I would even consider a decent set of take-offs

My Triton is older than yours but same 2 wheel drive and mileage is a hell of a lot higher.

I am on my 3rd set of Dunlop and need to change again soon. Replacements have been the closest spec to what the car originally came with. I have been very happy with them. Currently the Dunlop PT3 which if you look around will probably fall between the Yoko and Bridgestone in price.

But if you are only doing a couple of thousand kilometres a year I pretty much agree with @Yellowtail
