Close to seven in 10 Americans in a recent Reuters/Ipsos poll said details around Epstein were being concealed. But what makes Trump’s use of the phrase “Jeffrey Epstein hoax” deeply confusing is that, without any further explanation, he appears to be suggesting that the entire furore over Epstein’s crimes was somehow fabricated. That’s what prompted Elon Musk to ask on Wednesday why Epstein’s accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell “is in federal prison for a hoax”.

 

But what Trump seems to be getting at, without saying so explicitly, is that there are mentions of him in the Epstein files, which would make sense, given that Trump himself told New York magazine in 2002 that they had been friends for years and that he was aware that Epstein was attracted to young women. “I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy,” Trump said. “He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side”.

 

But Trump appears to be arguing, without acknowledging that there are mentions of him in the files, that any such documents are fakes, planted there by his political enemies, making the whole affair, like all evidence that Russia did work to get him elected in 2016, and that he lost the 2020 election fair and square, “a Democrat hoax”.

Every administration has been a joke.   Obama bails out the bankers & stock brokers, and now worth 100 million.  Cheney & Bush, war mongers and self enrichment.  They threw so much at Trump the first time around, he couldn't do much.   Then Biden, which actually not showing up, worked out great for us expats, but not for US citizens.

Wow. We agree on all of that. I'm also thrilled that I left behind that incredibly broken world and I do agree all politicians at the national level are super toxic, incredibly corrupt, and morally bankrupt.

 

Nobody with a nanogram of integrity and nobility has any interest in holding a national office in any country these days. 

 

I don't mean to sound like Trump is any sort of exception, and for those that know my previous posts, they saw how much complaining I did about Biden, Obama and Clinton so no politician is exempt from my wrath.
