Wonder what else she transitioned from. :whistling:

They should rigorously check all Thais using academic qualifications to get jobs within the government system, whether they are now in the civil service or applying for work in the Thai civil service.  I realise this will never happen.

However, an inquiry revealed these degrees were issued by unaccredited entities in the United States and lack recognition in Thailand.

Why did she not use a trusted print shop in Khao San road?😋

Most likely from the Bhumjaithai Party which is under investigation from the Division of Special Investigations for money laundering as well as other corrupt activity. And of course our dear friend, Anutin, is head of this Party.

Let's not forget the puppetmaster, Buriram's own Newin Chitchop.

Yes, do it. Many surprises ahead

Including a thorough check of the qualifications and experience of the new Education Minister.

Sure, she's been appointed with a purpose by people in power and no doubt with a monetary sharing plan.

And there's no doubt those in power who orchestrated her appointment have no real interest in her real quaifications.

Yes, that's what I was thinking. Now shattered dreams. Karma

Photo from Senator faces Supreme Court over misleading PhD claims

A Thai senator faces dismissal from Parliament and a potential 10-year prison sentence, after being caught falsely claiming the title of Professor during her election campaign.

The Election Commission (EC) has determined that 45-year-old Keskamol Pleansamai, a physician who transitioned into politics, improperly used the academic title in her Senate election application last year. This breach could result in imprisonment and a 20-year ban from participating in elections.

Keskamol's contentious claim to hold two disputed doctoral degrees remains unaddressed by this ruling.

Lawyer Pattharapong Supaksorn, who lodged the complaint, revealed yesterday, 21 July, that he has urged the EC to forward the case to the Election Division of the Supreme Court by Thursday, 24 July, within the legally allowed seven-day window.

“If the Supreme Court agrees to hear the case, Keskamol will be suspended pending the final judgment,” Pattharapong noted. “There's no justification to delay investigating her academic credentials.”

Keskamol astonished observers during June’s multi-tiered Senate elections last year by garnering the most votes in the freelance professional category. Her medical qualifications and noteworthy academic claims appeared to resonate with voters, though these claims are now under scrutiny.

She had declared doctoral degrees in Business Administration and Political Science from California University FCE, an obscure US-based institution. However, an inquiry revealed these degrees were issued by unaccredited entities in the United States and lack recognition in Thailand.

Officials also asserted that the documents she provided did not conform to the national criteria for doctoral qualifications.

This situation adds another chapter to Thailand’s continuous saga of dubious academic claims within the political arena, a complication that has troubled the system for years.

Should Keskamol be found guilty by the Supreme Court, it could establish a precedent for more rigorous academic validations in upcoming elections.

The implications of this case could extend to tighter scrutiny of qualifications, impacting the trajectory of future political prospects. Stakes are high, with Keskamol’s fate and the potential for systemic reforms hanging in the balance.

PhD - Pot Hole Digger

In the US.. Many small Universities lost their accredited status when they began having online classes to get more students. They have not gotten their accredited status returned to them since. Many students attending those schools went when the school was accredited but now since most people only check the current status of accrediting for the schools. Many people find their degrees are worthless now. It is an unfair practice. China accepts legitimate degrees still and requires documents proving the degree are real. Whereas Thailand only checks online to see if the school is accredited.

I am not saying this lady did not buy her degree. She most likely did. But many other people lost out on good positions because of the accredited status.

What I call the "Matchbook Cover" degrees, never step foot in a classroom and get credit for classes because you can breath, walk and fill out a form. The US is being inundated with people stating they have degrees, when in actuality, they do, but it's an Associates degree that took them 4 months to get and a bit of money. I've seen it too many times and the incompetence in our workforce grows!

She was just following in the footsteps of her fellow illustrious alumni of California University, Thamanat Prompow.

I guess I will have to take my framed cert off the wall !Just in case !

an associated degree in the US takes 2 years to get. NOT 4 months

He's the guy who did 8 years in jail in Australia, found guilty, then demanded a retrial and then Australian review confirmed him  on drug smuggling charges.

Then back in Thailand he used his bully boy tactics to quickly work his way up the ladder in a Thai political party who went into a coalition with other parties to form a gov't.

His party demanded a ministerial position and he was appointed a minister. His 8 years in jail was made public, the then Thai PM (Pradut) dismissed the jail time as not revelant because it was outside of Thailand. Case closed.

Just what/where is "California University"? "Cal" usually refers to U of California Berkley... University of California Los Angeles" (UCLA) doesn't qualify? "University of Southern California (USC)" the same? Then there are spots like "UC Davis"... If she went to Stanford... nope.

"I hit Google AI for what makes a professor in Thailand and it spit out this (minus "vibrant")

In Thailand, the title of "Professor" (ศาสตราจารย์ - sàatrǎa-jaan) at a university is generally attained through a combination of academic achievements, teaching experience, and research contributions. Typically, one must hold a doctoral degree (PhD) and have a distinguished record of teaching and scholarly work within their field".hmmm went on to say sometimes a master's degree is enough

But I prefer Phd: "Piled Higher Deeper"

This going after her reminds me of when PM was deposed for having a cooking show.
