KRABI - In a sad turn of events on Koh Phi Phi Island, a 55-year-old French tourist was discovered dead on a sofa outside the local police station. The man, known for enjoying his holiday, was seen heavily intoxicated the night before at a nearby bar, struggling to stay awake.

Witnesses and bar staff, worried about his state, arranged for him to be taken to the WorldMed Centre. However, after a medical check-up, the clinic sought help from the police to return him safely to his hotel.

The officers, concerned about transporting him in his condition, allowed the tourist to rest on a sofa at the front of the station until he was sober enough to move.

Tragically, at approximately 5.50 am, Police Lieutenant Apilak Suwannalikit found the man unresponsive. Despite the swift emergency response, the medics were unable to revive him, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was sent to Koh Phi Phi Hospital, where an initial examination revealed no signs of physical harm. A formal autopsy will determine the exact cause of death.

The incident prompts enquiries into the island's management of intoxicated tourists, particularly when it involves health and law enforcement agencies.

Local police have informed the French Embassy and are working with consular officials to reach the man's family. Investigations into the circumstances of his death are ongoing.

I drink alcohol every night, but only red wine. I had my blood test done, and my liver is fine

A lot of people just don't understand how incredibly toxic alcohol can be, and the ramifications of drinking too much especially for those of us that are beyond 50. The effect that it has on the liver the kidneys and other internal organs is dramatic. Habitual consumption of too much alcohol can result in severe liver damage, and once that happens all bets are off.

Red wine is certainly healthier than grain alcohol, and it's all about moderation.

I have not seen a better example of "anecdotal evidence" for years. Thanks for the laugh.

It's a good idea to have at least two alcohol-free days a week, it allows the liver to regenerate a bit.

I didn't realise Jesus was lost. Maybe he had been drinking too much. When I stopped drinking and smoking, I found my keys.

Its against forum rules to discuss that on here

Everyone assumes it was too much alcohol. He might also have had

other substances in his system ( ED drugs etc. ).

Wait for the autopsy results for a better understanding.

You appear to have no idea what I mean. As a result you have resorted to abuse. Does this happen often? You should do stand-up.

In my country bartenders still serving intoxicated patrons risks to be prosecuted. But TIT

So are trying to convey that you don't know what "anecdotal evidence" means?
