As expected, as promised. Trumps delivering on record pace. OUTSTANDING.

You forgot to mention it contracted 0.5% the previous quarter. So it's normal.

The silos are full because China has cancelled all orders of American corn. There's nowhere to put anything harvested. The Chinese are buying Canadian corn.

Perhaps you don't know what a silo is.

I’m originally from Illinois.  Detassling corn as a summer job during my youth.

I know what corn is and what a silo is.

Have you been there recently?

When does Canada’s corn thaw out?  From their short season.

Good luck, you'll need it.

Sorry to disappoint.  I own none.

Only Vanguard total market index funds for me.

Did you buy his gold golf shoes?  They may improve that swing of yours.

No, I have no desire to golf.

I will continue replying to post in accordance with forum guidelines regardless of what you think.

Nothing you can do about that.

Why do we never see your rants about posting to any of leftists on the forum.  They are equally guilty of your claims.

I know your recent post was directed at me.  The least you could do is be a REAL MAN and direct your post directly to me.

That’s what real men do.  Assuming you’re a male.

Sorry to disappoint. I buy comfortable golf shoes. My swing has served me well for 70 years.

Trump flogged gold sneakers. Only ( rhymes with anchors )  would buy and wear gold golf shoes.

Your investment choice demonstrates a totally unexpected intelligence. A pity you can't apply it elsewhere.

Yes! Including recent job performance review of London mayor. 10/10.

His Comms people working at Cnn are more than spectacular .

In the past his surrogates didn't have the reach on twitter  ,like this one does.

Due process means following the law (Immigration Act) or the Refugee Convention (US is a signatory). Any claims to stay should be examined and decided before removal. Not a hard concept.  If the US finds the process cumbersome their Government could could put forward a bill to make changes, not just concentrate on tax cuts for billionaires. They could even withdraw from the UN they founded and become even more of a pariah.

As a former long term IO in my country, I arrested, deported or refused entry to literally hundreds of criminals and false claiments for entry, including boat loads of middle eastern men  coming by sea.  I've managed migrant processing detention centers.

The deportation process there involved adhernce to  law and any UN conventions. No pressgang abductions on the street and secret dumping of people in 3rd country prisons.

You're showing your true colours complete with insults. Yours, and the MAGA clans, form of white protectionism, belies your rule of law and the historic principals of equality enshrined in the precious convention. It resembles Germany in the 30s.

A sharp decline in imports (down 30.3%) due to tariff charges boosted GDP artificially. Businesses had rushed to stock pile goods ahead of new tariffs, skewing Q1 numbers.

Smoke and mirrors for now.......but still all Biden's fault.

I guess the real numbers will show when the stockpiles are exhausted.

Only one example of many: TAX REDUCTION for the rich people (like himself). Not supporting the poor people.

That enlarges the state deficit, put on the shoulders of your children, grandchildren etc.

So far SO GOOD--WINNING, only 6 months in and more to come.

Additional time needed though to reverse the Biden era damage and destruction.

It's not great for corn farmers who have to let their crops rot on the ground, after China cancelled all orders. Canada took over the corn market.

It's not great for the automotive and white goods industries, who have to pay a 50% tariff on copper and steel imports.

It's not great for American liquor, which is now being boycotted by Canada.

But do continue with your fantasy world.

You mean those same farmers that only grew corn for ethanol, not food, right ? They can go back to growing what they grew before. They'll be just fine
Theres been a glut of corn off and on for many years, in fact many were paid to NOT grow it. Same with grains.

Canada didn't take over anything, stop looking at youtube. Heres what AI says about that lie you just told.

AI Overview

No, Canada has not taken over the corn market. While Canada is a significant importer of corn, particularly from the United States, they also produce their own corn and are subject to global market fluctuations. Imports can vary based on factors like domestic crop yields and global supply and demand.

Every country wants a Trump. What he's achieved in America and the world is phenomenal.

But what has he ACTUALLY achieved............

Countries are making promises to Trump, while leaving the difficult to achieve detail for later…..

Trade negotiations have for years focused on the rules of the road for commerce between nations.

Under United States President Donald Trump, the deal-making has been more direct, especially when it comes to energy.

Countries are now agreeing to purchase American fossil fuels, in specific amounts and often years into the future, whether or not their economies will demand it or whether the US will have the ability to supply it.

And yet more to throw doubt on the validity of these trump “deals”……

This is new, and generally that’s because in trade agreements you want things that are clear and enforceable,” said David Goldwyn, a former US diplomat and Energy Department official.

“These energy commitments are neither clear nor necessarily enforceable. They’re more aspirational, political encouragements.”

Farmers were paid not to grow stuff in the previous Trump administration, when China stopped buying, in his first trade war. That was to placate them.

IIRC the amount paid out in subsidies was close to the sum of all the tariffs paid by American consumers of Chinese goods. Robbing Peter to pay Paul, an exercise in futility.

Now it is Trump trade war Mark 2, what makes you think the result will be any different?

I have to admit I would have never expected to agree with the title of this oped but I do find Trump second term much better than his first one.

Let's start from the first win, something I largely anticipated: I knew he was set to sink the US dollar and be instrumental to the appreciation of the euro (and many other currencies with it). He did it in his first term, and I was so sure he would repeat himself that I sold all of my US denominated assets and converted them into Swiss Franc and Euro, resulting in a 13% gain, after factoring in the loss of 2% recorded in the last two days.
And it's only the beginning. It's just a matter of time he will prevail upon Powel and force the FED rates down, causing a further depreciation of the USD and of all the currencies loosely or tightly peg to it, like many currencies in Asia. Thank you Mr. Trump!

Second win, and it's a big thing for me. He is strangling Putin and the Russian economy with him. He imposed Europe to stop purchasing energy from Russia, it's traditional supplier of cheap gas and diesel.

As European I am ashamed that my European Union kept on purchasing these commodities from Russia.

I understand the pressure Orban, the AfD, Salvini, and all the parties of the extreme right and left put on the EU Commission to keep the gas and diesel taps open.

But Trump, despite Musk and Vance openly sympathizing with these right wing, pro-Russian leaders, stood his ground and ensured justice was made. The EU wil never buy energy from Russia again

But he is going much further than this. By imposing secondary sanctions on India and China, for Putin it is going to be game over. And I rejoice in anticipation of a Putin free world: Thank you Mr. Trump!

Third win, and it's another big thing for me: he pushed Europe to arm herself and stand on her feet again, as it used to do before our former colony raised to its current superpower status and became Europe's sugar daddy. I will never thank Trump enough for forcing the Europeans to behave as grown-up men and women again, after 50 years of shame. Thank you Mr. Trump!

Fourth win, and it's another big thing for me: by introducing new taxes (i.e. tariffs) and depreciating the US dollar he has made a big contribution to reduce global warming, much bigger than the millions of leftist right-thinking, organic veggie-burgers eaters would have ever done in their entire lives. A Swiss citizen consumes approximately 2.5 toe, which translates to roughly 29,000 kWh of electricity per year, while an American citizen in average consumes 7.76 tonnes of oil equivalent (toe) of energy per year, or about 89.97 MWh. It's shameful!

A weaker US dollar plus additional taxes means that the average American consumers becomes poorer and is forced to bring its consumption down to more sustainable levels. Thank you Mr. Trump, future generations will remember you and your bravery!

Fifth win, something I am delighted of:  he is putting a serious brake on immigration. There was once a United States of America characterized by a deeply north European culture and dominated by a WASP elite (White Anglo-Saxon Protestant). This was before a massive injection of immigrants, especially Latin immigrants, turned the country in a sort of ugly copy of the banana republics south of the Panama Canal. Vulgar, loud, violent, ostentatious, corrupt to the bones, greedy, which knows no duties but only rights, where everyone aspires to become a rentier and no one wants to commit to working honestly, disrespectful of the law, the privacy and the property, armed to the teeth and ready to use force to impose the law of the strongest.

America resembling everyday more Colombia rather than Friesland, North Holland, Cornwall, Jutland, or Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire, with the latter being the homeland of most of the Pilgrim Fathers.

Mr. Trump has put a stop to all this. America will go back to its cultural roots. And it's a win for America, and it's a win for the free world, for the rule of law, for the personal freedom of each one of us. That's the fifth reason I say thank you Mr. Trump.

Notwithstanding the above I also recognize he has some shortfalls, and some serious ones. Especially his habit of diverging from the truth. However, let's be honest, who hasn't any shortfall?

"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone". I won't be that one.

America has AWLAYS subsidized crops, cattle since at least the 40's.  So I have no idea what Trump or Obama have to do with it. You might at least learn the basics of what your talking about.
