New annual sim problem

Featured Replies

Hi  I just bought a new annual sim card after my last one expired (you need to register one yourselves these days and this can be tricky as your talking to the seller in thai on lazada)

My specific problem appears to be verification  I scanned my passport and face successfully but then it wants an address. What address is the question? All attempts to enter my address have failed.

Does anyone have any idea on this? what address do they actually want? mine hasnt changed in years

?

Go to  True or AIS  shop and let the staff there do it for you.

Yes, as John said above, just go to the dtac, true or AIS store and register your sim card with your passport

Just wanting to understand are you saying that you gave this info to some random Lazada seller -

Or does it go directly to the actual service provider?

I have the same sim - Pay-as-you-go, (AIS) for 12 years and on going now.  Bought the sim at AIS my 1st trip to Thailand. ( 3rd  trip got my  stay extension  )

Passport was copied by AIS ( BKK) when I got the sim.

The ONLY other time PP was copied for 'phone' service was when I combined the home WiFi, wife's sim ( her ID copied ) and my sim on a 1  billing for all AIS services.

NOTE: MANY banks now require the sim in YOUR name, some also require your address, ( use the address on your TM-30. ) to use their bank apk.

I kept getting texts from AIS about ID, so I went to the nearest shop and supplied my passport, which they scanned and my driving licence for the address. They also took my picture - job done.

I have had my AIS sim since 2007, I don't know what this yearly replacement is all about

Why is any sim only for one year? Never heard of anything do silly!

They used to cost 1,500baht for unlimited data each month, valid for one year. On expire date, pay the same original purchase price and the same sim is valid for another year.

The same sim deal now cost 3,999baht with True.
