A peculiar incident has emerged amidst the ongoing Thai-Cambodian border conflict. A Cambodian Facebook page, "Battambang Post," recently shared images of a pigeon allegedly captured with a GPS device linked to Thailand. The pigeon had a leg band marked "THAILAND."

The post claimed that Cambodian citizens intercepted a Thai GPS-equipped carrier pigeon, suggesting it was being used for espionage.

This has sparked laughter and disbelief among Thais, with many questioning the plausibility of such tactics in the modern age.

A Thai military fan page subsequently shared the post, ridiculing the claim and pointing out that satellite technology has long surpassed the need for pigeons in surveillance operations, reported Khaosod.

They jokingly suggested that binge-watching too many Chinese dramas might have influenced the Cambodians' imagination.

Thai social media users joined in the amusement, posting light-hearted comments and playfully critiquing the assertion.

The incident has added unexpected levity to an otherwise tense border situation, illustrating how humour can bridge cultural and political divides.
