Police swooped in on a raunchy operation today, August 7, arresting three Chinese men and two Laotian women caught live-streaming sexual acts from a luxurious pool villa in Pattaya.

 

A popular social media platform streamed the illicit content for a Chinese audience, using the villa as their seedy stage.

 

After receiving a tip, officers from the Immigration Bureau swiftly investigated and identified the location. Officers confirmed that the raunchy headquarters is located in the heart of Pattaya, even though the property's name is still under wraps.

 

The suspects, ranging in age from 24 to 53, were named as Chinese nationals Hong, Zhi, and Peng, alongside Laotian women Wan and Win.

 

In the midst of the raid, police seized an array of sex toys, condoms, and a small fortune in video production tech. Several images leaked from the scene revealed at least ten mobile phones used to dispatch the steamy streams to eager viewers.

While the revenue from this risqué venture wasn't revealed, the Laotian women admitted to earning 3,000 baht per session.

 

The accused now face serious legal repercussions. They’ve been charged under Section 287(1) of the Criminal Law for producing and distributing indecent materials, with potential penalties of up to three years in prison or fines of up to 60,000 baht. Section 287(2) pounds them further for trading in such materials, adding similar penalties.

 

Meanwhile, Section 14(4) of the Computer Act slaps them with charges for importing obscene content into computers, carrying punishments of up to five years' imprisonment and fines reaching 100,000 baht.

 

This scandal mirrors past incidents, such as a 2021 bust involving a Thai transwoman who streamed sex acts via LINE with her partner. Police also recently dismantled a Discord group in July featuring explicit content about underage girls, arresting the main Thai culprit and three others. The same month saw a Thai teacher exposed in Lop Buri for using the Bogo Live app to stream suggestive under-skirt videos.

 

Police promptly dealt with all these cases, highlighting a broader crackdown on the burgeoning issue of illicit live streams across the nation. Pattaya, known for its vibrant nightlife, adds this scandal to its annals, serving as a reminder of the ongoing battle against online indecency.
