Will new 50k max bank transfer impact 65k for Immi?

Featured Replies

I usually transfer funds monthly from overseas, then transfer to my wife's KK  on an app.

I could of course drive to bank with her and use a passbook, is this the  only solution?

The 50k limit is on outgoing money from your account, not incoming money.  But you might have to take 2 days to transfer it all to your wife after receiving it in your account.

Worst case scenario, you split the 65k baht transfer to your wife into two transfers on two different days.

But based on a more recent "clarification" you should be able to raise the limit. Let's see.

Your inbound transfer from overseas won't be affected by this change in any case.

This question doesn't really have anything to do with your proof of funds for your visa extension based on monthly income 😮

It's a question asking if you have to do two transfers to give the money to my wife, which has nothing to do with anything visa-wise 😉

Transfer 50k one day and then the balance the next day if your limit is set at 50k per transaction per day..

Isn't the 50 k limit just on mobile banking. Bangkok bank told me that just a few days ago.

Transfers to established recipients was 2million.

As has been mention couple of times above.

The OP is confused.

The monthly transfers of 65k + is an immigration requirement if using that method for extension retirement.

Nothing has changed for eg using WISE to transfer money from abroad to your Thai bank.

Limit per transfer to some banks is 2 mil and to some 500k.

Change made is to limit for transfers from your Thai bank to perhaps another Thai bank.

Also this is using app.

I transfer 100k each month from my Thai bank to partners Thai bank every month. No issue.

As you transfer ฿65k to your wifes account from overseas is unaffected but if you wish to have a non O extension based on retirement this will be affected.

He doesn't do that.

He transfers monthly from abroad to his Thai bank account in his name only.

He then transfers the funds to his Thai wife account.

I do exactly the same. There is a ATM front of our condo.

The funds hit my Thai account (in seconds using WISE) ... then the Thai partner transfers the funds out of my account into hers.

The side bonus is only minimal funds remain in my account.

The limit is set at 50K per transfer up to 200K per day.

So you can just split a transfer greater than 50K and send them one after another.

The change would seem on the surface to prevent those who don't or won't put 800,000 baht in the bank to do their extension yearly through an agent?

The hang up last few months was the use of BB, so bank was switch to Krungthi, procedure was you have the bank app on your phone agent transfers the necessary funds in and out.

This change would stop it regardless of bank?🤔

Seems along with others you have misunderstood the content of the OP.

The op is confused. He is asking about transfees from his Thai bank to wife's Thai bank.

Zero to do with immigration for eg extensions.

In any event for extensions he is using income method.
