RFK Jr Announces All Doctors Must Learn Proper Nutrition

Featured Replies

Bold reform in the medical education system.

A situation that everyone has recognized as wrong, but no one has had the gumption to fix.

Trump and RFK Jr have gumption!

You and I hold differing views because this initiative is associated with the Trump administration. However, I would wholeheartedly support this effort if it were championed by the Biden administration.

Nick supreme my man. I knew you were on our side all along

Nothing worse then some fat Doctor with blue veins in his face from alcohol telling you to eat the proper diet.

Arrogant hypocrisy.

Doctors who advise their patients on diet are nearly universally ignored (and resented) anyway

so what's the point?

Many of us are old enough to remember how the Radical Right responded when...

Michelle Obama launched her Nutrition Initiative.

Michael Bloomberg introduced a Sugar Tax.

Both times Fox News and hannity were apoplectic.

And neither is the new head of the CDC,  Jim O’Neill.  Not a doctor.  Not a scientist of any kind.

What about:  All doctors must learn to not take bribes from Big Drug companies, and refuse junkets to Resorts, paid for by pharmaceutical companies.

What about:  All doctors must learn about the proven effects of vastly over-prescribing psychotropic drugs to children, as well as adults.

What about: All doctors must learn to accept that the practice of medicine should not be a monopoly for a few, and that more doctors are needed in the economy so that adequate time is available during patient consultations.

What about:  Drug companies must charge no more for drugs than does the medical system on Taiwan.

And then, let the patient eat what he likes.

Maybe the diet should be adjusted back to what they were eating on Taiwan, pre-1985, when all Formosans were slim and trim, happy and healthy.

Food does not kill people, people do!

You can learn all about nutrition and what kinds of things you should or should not eat but that is just not good enough.

It is the food industry they should go after, all of the junk they add just for profit.

Get rid of all added sugar! A lot of people do not realize there are different kinds of sugar and do not recognize

that on the label,if they read a label at all.

Educating doctors about food will not help, teach young kids in school like they do in Japan.

Billions of dollars can be saved in health care if people would just care about their body a little bit more.

Ignorance is also a very big part of it,a lot of people still believe eating a lot of fat is a danger, totally wrong?

What worries me the most is that this is just another issue that is being politicized, food and health affects everyone

everyday and it should be a effort everyone gets behind.

Most people have no problem about getting their cars checked and serviced a few times per year but do nothing

for their bodies until they fall down.

More awareness and less eating people, you only have one body.

For most people two meals a day is plenty but if you tell them that they look at you in panic!

Did the CDC staff stage a walkout a few hours back?

  • Popular Post

That won't go down well with their fast food company friends.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Donald negotiated himself a free meal deal for life for promoting McD's. 😀

I’m not referring to diets that’s just noise + the qualified people are quitting in droves because of the lunacy.

Again this diet nonsense is a distraction his lunacy on vaccines science research ect is what’s getting folks killed dead the dude doesn’t belong in that position.

I very rarely agree with anything this buffoon does or says, but in this particular case he actually might be on to something. Very, very few doctors know anything about nutrition, nor the correlation between health, preventative medicine and nutrition, and likewise very few doctors know anything about the benefits of herbs, and any sort of alternative medicine. Many are simply prescription machines, and hawkers for Big Pharma.

The courts threw out Bloomberg's sugar tax but his efford to impose one succeeded elsewhere.  But he did successfully ban trans fats in NYC. For which he was pretty much universally castigated by right wingers. Ultimately, the FDA banned trans fats nationwide  in 2015. Thanks, Obama.

Not just gumption but ignorance, too. JFK recommends eating french fries fried in beef fat.

McDonald's used to cook their fries in beef tallow. I suppose you could argue they are healthier now. Depends which scientific data you're looking at.

Maybe they started replacing beef fat (or beef tallow to be more precise) by all these synthetic fats because the world is over-populated and there simply aren't enough cows to go around? At least that's my little conspiracy.

Beef tallow may have anti-cancer properties.

What synthetic fats is McDonald's using to fry its fries?

Also, while it seems to be true that stearic acid has anti-cancer properties, it's also true that the fat in red meat contains even more oleic acid. Oleic acid has been found to neutralize the anti-cancer effects of stearic acid.

And, of course, overall, red meat has been found to have very strong carcinogenic effects:

The association between red meat consumption and cancer risk remains a controversy. In this study, we systematically collected and analyzed global data (from Our World in Data and Global Cancer Observatory) to investigate this association for the first time. Our results confirmed significant positive associations between red meat consumption (RMC) and overall cancer incidence (0.798, p < 0.001), or colorectal cancer incidence (0.625, p < 0.001). Several previously unreported cancer types linked to RMC were also unveiled. Gross domestic product (GDP) per capita were found to have an impact on this association. However, even after controlling it, RMC remained significantly associated with cancer incidence (0.463, p < 0.001; 0.592, p < 0.001). Meanwhile, after controlling GDP per capita, the correlation coefficients between white meat consumption and overall cancer incidence were found to be much lower and insignificant, at 0.089 (p = 0.288) for poultry consumption and at −0.055 (p = 0.514) for seafood and fish consumption.

Those aren't synthetic fats. Thos are flavoring. If you fry garlic in olive oil, does that make the olive oil synthetic?
