So... What's yer point? Are you gonna argue that Congress has the testicular resolve to do that. Please, do it. I need a good large 😂

No idea about the "testicular resolve", but I'm sure they do not have the votes.

I'm not a fan of the tariffs and I'll be happy to see them go.

If they mustered the votes for the now unnamed bill, why do you think they couldn't muster the votes for tariffs? Theoretically they could, but electoral fear seems to be creeping in.

SCOTUS won't take the case and the appellate court decision will stand.

It's being challenged and the only way to do that is in the Supreme Court. To say otherwise as you have done shows a complete lack of understanding.

You DO, of course, realize that SCOTUS does not take the majority of cases brought to them, right 🤔🤷

President Trump is already on record as regards any possible tariff refunds 08 AUG 2025 Truth Social:

"If a Radical Left Court ruled against us at this late date, in an attempt to bring down or disturb the largest amount of money, wealth creation and influence the U.S.A. has ever seen, it would be impossible to ever recover, or pay back, these massive sums of money and honor," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform Friday morning.

"It would be 1929 all over again, a GREAT DEPRESSION," he added.

"If they were going to rule against the wealth, strength, and power of America, they should have done so LONG AGO, at the beginning of the case, where our entire Country, while never having a chance at this kind of GREATNESS again, would not have been put in 1929 style jeopardy," Trump said of the courts' potential actions around tariffs. "There is no way America could recover from such a judicial tragedy."

They've been pretty busy lately overturning activist judges rulings. This WILL be going to SCOTUS.

Well we all know what opinions are worth. Time will tell.

That was the plan all along....and everyone should note, that Trump is playing 8 D chess....and using the Supreme Court to fix America.  Buckle Up.

did you mean ...governing with executive orders bypassing congress, regardless of the laws, his usual escape ""I am the president, I can do whatever I want""

Imagine the chaos if all of the tariffs collected so far have to be refunded?

Trump has Congress and the Supreme Court in his pocket all he has to do is get Congress to agree to the tariffs and it’s a done deal.

If there are a few in congress with a modicum of common sense who wont agree to ratify the tariffs then the Supreme Court will likely give in to his threats.

America is no longer respected its becoming a laughing stock and on a slippery slope under Trump.

If the tariffs have to be refunded they could always sue Trump for it then he could do what he always does when he doesn’t want to pay and declare himself bankrupt.

Then his mate Putin will probably come along and bail him out as always.

Joni Ernst, US senator from Iowa, has announced she will not seek re-election.  DT had to bully her to get her vote for his budget bill, threatening to primary her out.  Since that is no longer a threat for her, she may be one less vote in the Senate for Team Orange in the interim.  I suspect this, plus her ridiculous "we all die" thing drove the decision, combined with that she can probably afford to not have to work again: people who become senators usually walk away as rich people one way or another (if they don't die in office).  Speaking of which the other US senator from Iowa (Grassley) is 91.

Yeah, you might think there will be others who will follow, but US Senators are infamously spineless.  And drunkards.

Supreme Court: Clarence and Alito need no introduction, then there is those other two guys DT put in there (who I privately think of as "the two dildos"),  So that's four solid MAGAs.

Then there are the three liberal ladies. And Barret, who seems to be torn by crisis of conscious, but will she stand up to the bully?

The chief justice answers to the call of his own masters.

Old joke: there was a senator who was dead for ten years and no one noticed, he even won re-election.

The above handicapping of the Supreme court vote count above is one that could be said for most issues before the Court.

The big difference here may be the amicus briefs that come in supporting those on the winning side of last week's Federal Appeals Court decision from the hard-core conservative and libertarian interests.

Can't happen that way. If Congress ratifies the tariffs, the appeal becomes superfluous.

From my Truth Social post on the Soapbox topic:

"If allowed to stand, this Decision would literally destroy the United States of America."

Note to the Supreme Court Justices: Vote for me or destroy America.

In that case the regime will take credit for giving American consumers a tax refund.

Although in reality, only American retailers and importers would get refund checks or credits.  Whether they pass that on to the American consumers who eventually foot the bill.................

and he keeps having a bad week as more bad news coming out of the top court saying that Trump's tariffs are illegal, oh boy oh boy he must be pissed, maybe an eye opening for him to start to govern by law and not executive orders

That will never happen and if the SC takes this up they won't decide on the appeal for another year.

that's a good logical point,  if that happens he better quit as the country may go bankrupt, he would the be the biggest loser in the USA history... just saying 555

Per BBC Trump on Truth Social: Trump criticised the appeals court and its ruling on Truth Social, saying:

"If allowed to stand, this Decision would literally destroy the United States of America." *

This from last week's Fedal Appeals Court ruling (page 51-52):

We reject the dissent’s suggestion that because IEEPA involves foreign affairs, it must be interpreted so
broadly as to include tariff authority. We are aware of no Supreme Court case applying that proposition to read a broad delegation of taxing authority into ambiguous text.

For a similar reason, we reject the dissent’s suggestion that “[t]axing through tariffs is just a less extreme, more flexible tool for pursuing the same objective of controlling the amount or price of imports that, after all, could be barred altogether.”

May as well let the judges run the country at this point.

Libertarians oppose the expansion of the executive branch of government, advocating for limited government power, individual liberty, and a strict separation of powers. They view expanded executive power as a threat to personal freedom and a concentration of power that violates the Founders' principles. This opposition is rooted in their core belief in limiting state authority and expanding individual autonomy, often citing concerns about government surveillance, delegated authority, and executive overreach.

NB Libertarian legal entities with backing from the Koch and Uihlein interests are the main lawyers involved in the V.O.S. v. Trump complaint that was just ruled by the DC Federal Appeals court.

The Libertarians are the only group who speaks about on these type of issues.

and he keeps spreading lies and misleading information about the  tariffs, somebody should show him the "REAL" numbers to shut him up, he's a disgrace

The main issue, however, is that $8 trillion in tariff revenue is highly implausible. According to the U.S. Treasury Department, total tariff collections during 2025 so far have amounted to $142 billion, however. While tariff revenues are on the rise, the amount is overstated by many multiples.

By contrast, $8 trillion would equal nearly a third of the U.S. GDP — an amount impossible to generate from tariffs in such a short period.

in just 6 months at the helm of the USA Trump managed to isolate the country from the international community, the only ally he has left is Putin, he manage to destroy the Western World friendship/cooperation with the USA, did the same in SEA, Australia and Africa, somehow he keep a (small) food in the middle East because the Arabians play both sides and Trump side has to do with money, nothing to do with respect, friendship and/or business as the Middle East buys very little from the USA, well done magies, keep up the good work as you are going at it alone, if (God forbid) something bad happens in the USA they should not expect help from previous allies
