BigC now selling Heinz baked beans for 34.50 baht per 415g tin

Featured Replies

For all baked bean fans. Just been to BigC in Buriram province and discovered that Heinz baked beans are now 34.50 baht for a 415g per tin.

Wouldn't be my first choice normally (Brooke & Branston are better IMHO but are not as easily available) but for 34.50 baht, it's an offer I couldn't refuse.

Nothing on the shelf price to indicate any reduction but it was automatically applied at checkout.

EDIT: Just noticed that there is also a topic about this in the Pattaya forum.

I've just checked online that my local BigC, which is almost 20 km from home, have them at double the 34.5 price at 69. It's pouring with rain so I may decide to take a run down there and look at any other promos.

You can order online at Big C

That's 22g  for 1 baht

Heinz are 69 baht for 415 g. 6g for a baht

And if you are going to eat alot of beans, BIG C HAPPY PRICE PRO Toilet Tissue, with 2 layers and 3X the length of regular tissue rolls, 60M is on sale too for 56 baht.

Tinned goods always have a long life.  In this case until 2027.

Apr 27, enough time for you? Heinz usually go for 80+ baht from expat shops

In BigC Yasothon yesterday they were 60 baht for different shaped cans. But I bought 2 anyway. The promo may reach here eventually.

I prefer the local variety with the "British Recipe" and Union Jack flag on the label.  They are also very low sugar and sodium content, lower than the same brands "Light" variety.

Prefer my own home made ones,  for the last 5 years.

Any large discount now,  won't last long with any of the super markets. :coffee1:

For the big spenders, a different flavor experience.

Not the familiar Heinz flavor.

Again, for the big spenders can get at Villa, might make you forget about Heinz.

i mentioned this some months ago. Another posted noted that they are produced in China. They are undoubtedly Heinz, but being produced there might be why they can sell them so much cheaper than the usual imported ones.

I have  noticed recently that Big C has upped their variety of foreign foodstuffs and snacks.

Way over priced.

Would sooner go buy 2 large bottles of cold Leo,  at the Ma & Pa shop. ( 140 baht )

Why would you choose them at Bht69 and only know there was a reduction after check-out?

You beat me to it.

For my taste, Bush's beat the others by a country mile.

The price be damned... you only live once.

The ones in the Expat shops are genuine UK imports, the ones in Big C are Chinese imports.

it seems they are. To Thailand at least.

What I was intimating was that the production and shipping costs are likely much cheaper from China than importing from Europe.

I wanted some baked beans, so it was either Heinz @ 69 baht or the local "Ayam" variety. Other makes (Brooke & Branston would be first choice) are not available locally, so would need to buy them mail-order, or make a trip to Korat (100Km round trip) or Buriram "city" (170 Km round trip)

Much easier when Nookie was around.

I struggled with baked beans being too sweet and found that the Ayam no low/no sugar version was OK. Brook were my favourites.

Well said @hotandsticky. Nookie was a "larger than life" character and a big mate of mine.

It's not a thumbs down - it's a love it.  I did it. I'll change it to a Thank You if you want.
