Thaksin has no shame. Well we already knew that power is everything to him. He still wants to be, am I allowed to say it, king. That is why so many of the middle/older generations do not like him.

  • Prayut let's go.

You might want to check your information, which is somewhat lacking in accuracy.

Google "BBC report Indonesian riots" and you may be enlightened.

Not really. There are riots. I noted that. But a very small number of people compared to the overall population. And that population has stood by for decades while Corruption has been rampant.

i stand by my comment that Indonesia is by nomeans an example of people power effectively combatting corruption.

As an aside, I also wouldn’t trust a bunch of sound bites and isolated film clips attempting to show a general uprising. It just ain’t happening. That’s just mainstream media hyperbole creating a news scenario

As a expat i can't to worked up about who is in power

Not going to alter my life more concerned with Immigration

Let the Thai people vote who they want in power their Country

They should just dissolve the House and have another election to get everything as straight and legit as possible. Problem is, if whoever PP supports as PM but won't take part in the cabinet etc., then you have the biggest political party incharge of things but also acting as the opposition... which isn't really a good situation, even if they are demanding a dissolution within 4 months (which is a long time in politics). This situation will be noticed and just makes a messy situation worse.

Also, having A-nut-in charge of the covernment briefly doesn't help with anything either. Get rid of PT party and Thasksin too, clear the deck with a new election, and try to move on... however unlikely that will be, but it give PP a chance to win outright and that would be the best outcome.

A serious joke.

A very small number of Indonesians. There are nearly 300 million of them and many on islands far from Java where there are no protests whatsoever.

I personally wouldn’t hold up Indonesians as an example of people power versus corruption. The country as a whole is possibly even more corrupt than Thailand. And that is saying something.

Many years back it certainly was corrupt, very corrupt from the top to the bottom and probably more so than Thailand, although can't comment on the current situation.

Prayut and Anutin supporters - Hold all your horses!

Breaking news 35 minutes ago:

BREAKING: Opposition Bhumjaithai Party has submitted a motion to Parliament's Speaker to put the prime minister's vote on the agenda, after BJT leader Anutin Charnveerakul announced the formation of a 146-seat minority government. This latest development is happening while caretaker acting PM Phumtham Wechayachai awaits the endorsement of HM the King to dissolve the House of Representatives.  As I see it, no PM until after another General Election or Coup!

I'd rather a return of Uncle Tu than the elevation of Big Noo

And who would you suggest? The coup maker? More PTP?  PP has done this for a reason.

u may be right or not but I am for the young blood with new ideas to kick out the old corrupted guard, we know how the old ones do/did, let the young ones proof themselves, let the country move forward as right now it's stagnating or moving backwards

The People’s Party has announced its support for Anutin Charnvirakul to become the 32nd Prime Minister of Thailand. The decision comes with specific conditions, including the dissolution of parliament and constitutional amendments. Natthaphong Ruangpanyawut, a prominent figure in the party, made the announcement earlier today.

Now PP says "No decision has been made, announcement tomorrow after the decision. They have to play their cards right. This is the chance for change if done right. PP knows it will win, but just how big in the election. Keeping the base happy is the key. Lets see.

Considering that the PP was built from people's hate of Chan O there is no way they will even think about supporting him.  Anutin is the sensible solution. As to the 4 months that is to give them time to get all the paperwork done.  The minute the Kings says you are the Prme Minister Anutin he can then say let the games begin.

e

However, BJT will want to make sure their senators are protected, Thaksinis found guilty and completely barred from any activitity incuding financial in the political game.  Then he will want to do something that he can brag about on the election trail.

It will also take a few weeks to get the constitution sorted out.

Also I can not see Chan O saying yes unless he is assured and that is not a given onceyou resign fromt eh privy council I doubt you can just say sorry I want back.

I thought the constitution limits the total amount of time a PM can hold the position and he already used up all that time when he was last in control.

How about dissolve both houses and hold an election for both, stop the military and the elites now.

I could put forward a suggestion. It involves a mouse and his anatomical maleness. If it kills the mouse, he fails.

Pheu Thai once promised not to join with junta parties. Then they broke the promise. Now they want a junta PM. Methinks the election will help to sweep out these parties for the last time.

In a dramatic political twist, de facto Pheu Thai leader Thaksin Shinawatra is reportedly attempting to reinstall Prayut Chan-o-cha as Thailand's Prime Minister. This covert move aims to extend the Pheu Thai-led coalition government, following the ousting of Thaksin’s daughter, Paetongtarn Shinawatra, by a Constitutional Court ruling on Friday.

20-25 years ago Thailand looked like an emerging economy, a potential strength in Asia.

Now it's the poor cousin, a laughing stock.

Looks like PT's attempt to persuade Prayud to be the PM candidate has failed, otherwise they wouldn't have called for dissolution of Parliament.

Monty Python comes to mind (UK comedy series) but in the end the new PM will be pro- Monarchy, pro-dinosaur Establishment and PRO-MILITARY!!
