Is Angela Rayner guilty

Featured Replies

Her reasons for avoiding £40,000 stamp duty sound feeble and claiming that her newly purchased flat in Hove , was her main residence . This hypercritical deputy P.M. must be sacked . Also how has she managed to accrue a personal wealth of £4.75 million . She has the backing of Starmer who also needs to go . Starmers wealth is said to be  in excess of       £10 million . The mind boggles .

And if she does she should repay the tax debt and then continue in office.

The question that needs answering is did Rayner seek and act on lawful professional advice?   If she did your second question is mute.

Two questions need to be answered.

Will those, looks like they weren't tax lawyers, come forward and tell what advice they dave and on what information Rayner had given them?

Would Rayner have come forward if she had not been found out?

Leave her alone, she is MY MP, I am from Ashton-under-Lyne...........ha ha ha 555

Who is she?

UK Deputy Prime Minister, and Housing Secretary.

Deputy Prime Minister in the UK is something of a " non job", a political sop to senior members of the party in government (often to buy loyalty from rivals or influential faction leaders) rather than having a defined role. Unlike the Vice President she/he has no defined duties, responsibilities or circumstances in which she/he automatically assumes the post of Prime Minister.

Now as Housing Secretary, and playing fast and loose around the rules governing tax on second homes, that is a scandal which would, in my opinion, merit resignation.

When looking at any politician in the world in hot soap, the point is rather is he or she innocent ?

Latest news says that there was no advice given to her on stamp duty and the conveyancing solicitors acted on the info given by Rayner and no mention to them on her house held in trust . She appears to be lying and digging a hole that she cannot get out of . Two faced hypocritical bitch .

Indeed.

And she even used the compensation she got for her son's disabilities which was meant to be spent on his care, to pay the deposit.

The woman is a disgrace.

Already investigated over council house profit but didn't know the rules on tax when buying a house when she is housing minister, she is history today or Starminger will be gone to.

Yes, i saw that. They calculated her stamp duty "based on information from her".

Nah, 2 tier Keir already showed that breaking the ministerial code isn't a deal breaker for him (as long as you are Labour).

She clearly kept quiet about it and is now trying to blame them for giving her bad advice.

Hopefully they sue her for defamation.

If she doesn't have crystal clear, written evidence that she was ill informed/misled then she shouldn't go.....she should be sacked.

So Robert Sheldon was MP, the first I ever voted for.

She will stay an MP no doubt, but she can't remain in government.

She is the minister for housing.

The rules on stamp duty are very clear.

Even in the extremely unlikely event she was given bad advice, the level of incompetence for someone in her position makes it untenable.

That's even before we consider that she used the money for her disabled son's care to pay for it.

She didn't.

Nice of her to throw the family run law firm under the bus though.

No she did not . The conveyancing was carried out to her given information . According to her appointed solicitors .

Last night, the small family firm in Kent who did the conveyancing work for her, Verrico & Associates, released a statement which said it did not offer tax advice or deal with trusts. Its founder, Joanna Verrico, said the company had calculated the amount of stamp duty “based on the facts and information provided to us".

No need now. The firm she used have confirmed.

Even your chosen news source have confirmed it.
