I visited an older couple yesterday in Hua-hin and they told me they recieved a letter from the government,

They have 90 days to sell their property(company) or the government would take it and sell it for them.

They are now trying to sell it and they are moving to the Philippines if they do.

I know more people in and around Hua-hin have received questions about nominees, apparently also Chonburi is going to be targeted.

Has any one else any info on this?

only that they are investigating 40k illegal companies due to fake thai proxy shareholders, most farang with houses and condos in company name will be embroiled in this

I've seen videos on YouTube of people showing their homes in Hua Hin which they purchased through a company which must be nominees. Seems to be out in the open and real estate agents are probably convincing them this is legal.

Interesting. First time I hear about a letter and feel it is a good "warning". I did read on ThaiLaw Online about nominees and what they are doing. Can't post the link but just Google "Nominees Thailand ThaiLaw Online". One article on what it is and one on the crackdown.

Would be very notable if you could obtain a copy of that letter, of course with thier personal information blocked out.

These crackdowns have been happening regularly for decades, yet I keep meeting people online and in person that insist it’s no problem for foreigners to own property this way. I don’t understand how anyone could have that delusion, I guess I figured the agents must be very slick and good at lying.
