It also shows spectacular lack of judgement and tone deafness.

The anti Starmer chants were great.

He better release some more rapists and pedos to make space in jail for the "far right thugs" promoting "hate" (of him). 😃

I think some even had England flags. The horror. Send Emily Thornberry round to re-educate them.

We are coming to or at the end of the summer, when weather conditions permit more crossings. I expect there is a late rush to get across now.

Over 1000 yesterday.

Great start for the new Home Secretary 😀😀😀

Cyclist - all Parties say they are 'ready to go' with changes. It would be better if all of them acknowledged the UK's financial plight and presented us with different ways of tackling it - so we are all then ready for the inescapable cuts to benefits and increases to taxes, without the bull.

Does any of that negate my question ?

Starmer pre GE

" After 14 years in Opposition, we have a plan ready to go from day 1 "

The question was. What has improved since day 1 ?

Cyclist - lack of judgement ? You can do better can you? Things move on and change - maybe he made a good call at the time.

Yes I could. It wouldn't be difficult to find 1000's of people who could do a better job.

PPE students, Party interns, lawyers,, smoke blown up their arses retards, are not what is required to run a Country.

A good indicator of why the Country has been heading down the Gary Glitter over the last 30 / 35 years.

Things move on and change ? We are moving backwards and heading back to the 70's.

Is that the type of change you are dreaming of ?

There isn't anyone IMO  -  nor has there been for a number of years.

The last statesman was probably David Cameron.

"Statesman" is one word. He is the man who single-handedly wrecked the country and the future of our youth by calling a referendum on Brexit all for his own self serving reasons. Then did nothing to prevent the carnage that followed, did nothing to educate people on what voting leave would mean as he just assumed no-one would be stupid enough to vote that way.

"he just assumed no-one would be stupid enough to vote that way".

I think you mean smart enough.

He failed to get 'his deal' through the EU and his bluff was called with the referendum. The irony is that (had he been a believer) he was probably the best person to handle BREXIT.

Bit unusual not to name replacements for those asked to step down simultaneously. It's almost like it was unplanned.

Incorrect. Dear Rachel is still there.

Incorrect...the statement was substantially qualified, making it accurate, something that you incorrectly chose to omit or ignore...

"Starmer’s shake-up saw the removal of high-profile ministers, including Chancellor Rachel Reeves. While she remains in her position, her role has effectively been diminished. Starmer has appointed a team of Treasury advisers to shadow her every move, reporting back directly to him. This manoeuvre has effectively clipped Reeves' wings, leaving her to deliver November's Budget without a say in its content".

I find it stupid to gives his Ministers new positions, possibly which they know f all about. Why could he not just have appointed a new Housing Minister and left the others in the jobs they have been doing since Election.

Could it be because they have been doing a sh1tty job?

Is Rachael Reeves still the Chancellor of Exchequer

ChatGPT said:

Yes — as of September 8, 2025, Rachel Reeves is still serving as the Chancellor of the Exchequer in the UK.

Here's how we know:

  • Official government sources confirm that she was appointed Chancellor on 5 July 2024 and remains the current holder of the position.GOV.UK+1

  • Wikipedia’s current listing of the Starmer ministry (September 2025–present) shows Rachel Reeves as the Chancellor (Second Lord of the Treasury), with her term starting on 5 July 2024 and marked as present.Wikipedia

Recent news also supports her continued tenure:

  • Despite a significant cabinet reshuffle, Finance Minister Rachel Reeves retained her position, helping to reassure the markets.Financial TimesThe Guardian

  • The government has explicitly reiterated support for her, including after some political turbulence.AP NewsThe Guardian

Summary:

  • Appointment date: 5 July 2024

  • Status as of now: Still Chancellor of the Exchequer, with formal confirmation as of September 2025

So yes — Rachel Reeves continues in her role as Chancellor.

Well will they not do a similar incompetent job in their next role in a job they know f all about?

It happens every time there is a re-shuffle.

Areas where there are Labour MPs are getting what the were promised. Those that didn't vote Labour are not.

Add in the 3 former cabinet ministers removed / resigned under clouds of corruption.

I think  that says a lot about Starmers lack of judgement.

Fair point....the Tories never had anything of this sort happen.

Since 2018, the Conservative Party has seen a remarkable churn in ministerial ranks—reflecting internal strife, leadership changes, and scandals. Here's a breakdown of the numbers and context:

### 🔢 Total Cabinet-Level Departures (2018–2025)
According to analysis by *Politico*, at least **39 Cabinet ministers** have either been sacked, resigned in disgrace, or quit in protest since 2010, with the bulk occurring after 2018.

### 📉 Notable Waves of Resignations
- **Under Boris Johnson (2019–2022)**:
  - In July 2022 alone, **52 MPs** resigned from government roles in a 24-hour period, including high-profile figures like Rishi Sunak and Sajid Javid.
  - Michael Gove was sacked as Communities Secretary during this period.

- **Under Rishi Sunak (2022–2025)**:
  - In 2023, **26 ministers** (21 MPs and 5 peers) either resigned or were sacked.
  - Notables include Dominic Raab (resigned over bullying allegations), Suella Braverman (sacked as Home Secretary), and Robert Jenrick (resigned over immigration policy).

### 🧾 Examples of Forced Exits
- Dominic Raab – Resigned amid bullying investigation
- Suella Braverman – Sacked twice from Home Secretary role
- Gavin Williamson – Resigned over bullying claims
- Therese Coffey – Left office in 2023 reshuffle
- Ben Wallace – Stepped down as Defence Secretary

This doesn’t even count junior ministers, trade envoys, and PPSs who exited during reshuffles or scandals. If you want a full spreadsheet-style breakdown by year, role, and reason for departure, I can compile that too.

The thread isn't about the Tories, who got hoofed at the last GE due to incompetence, shenanigans and all round bellendry.

This thread is about Starmer and Labour. Who, one year in are giving the Tories a run for their money.

Best not mentioned the Labourites, both MP's and Councillors who have resigned, have been suspended, and charged with sex pestery.

All in just over a year.

Now bringing in the reserves probably because there is too much apathy in his previous Muppet cabinet . As much as the illegal immigration is at the forefront of UK politics is Starmer using it as a smoke screen to stifle the news on the horrific state of the UK economy ?

The national debt costs 8.5% of GDP . Illegal immigration 0.2% and £3 billion per year .. Interest of the UK debt is a staggering £111.2 billion . Cannot blame it all on the previous Tory governments because Reeves has made her own £50 billion black hole .

Illegal immigration will continue as long as the UK remains in the E.C.H.R .

That's why he appointed DEI Lammy as Deputy PM.

Appoint someone so incredibly stupid as next in line so nobody asks you to resign ever again.

Smart people surround themselves with smart people. Look at who Starmer has surrounded himself with.
