I see them sold on stalls in shopping malls etc, they are of course a bit cheaper online.

Do you have one?

Do you use it everyday or often?

Do you notice it? Does it make your home smell lovely and fresh?

How often do you top up the aroma oil?

How much does the aroma oil cost and how often do you buy it?

Was it worth getting and using, or was it a little gimmick that you got bored of and stopped using after a week or two?

What size model did you go for and was it adequate?

Any other comments as an Aroma Diffuser owner and operator?

Stopped using mine after a week.

Then started using it again but repurposed to root cannabis cuttings.

Why?

Was it loud?

Was it useless?

Did it break?

Did the water vapor start to cause damage to paint or wood?

What was the reason for ceasing operations?

The aroma just doesn't work, and the air is already humid enough.

Interesting.

Do any other members have experiences with these Aroma Diffusers, and how aromatic they actually are in real life situations?

I have bought one from the link above, and 5 x 30ml bottles of essential oils.

I will report back in a few weeks, to confirm if we are still using it or not.

Bought various essential oils and a diffuser. Most of the scents caused discomfort (slight allergy) after a few days.  Decided to stop altogether.

Thank you. This seems to be a user issue rather than a product issue.

I agree. Sensitive to scents, but I use light aerosol fragrances (e.g. citrus) occasionally.

Who knows what chemicals are used?

Yeah, can be. However, I´ve used some in the past as well. My experience is that some are working well, but many of the scents gives a slight headache.

Some scents have given me headaches as well. Some scents are sickly sweet.  I've had mine for over a year, use it daily, but don't really notice the aromas anymore. Maybe my sinus passages have become saturated. A couple of times per month it starts to smell a bit rank or moldy, so I clean it and let it dry for a few days.

We use a diffuser from time to time and have a few different oils that we use. Lavender is pleasant and makes the room smell fragrant. Tea tree oil makes the room smell fresh. These are the two we use most often.

Do note, however, that pets can be very sensitive to the scents and cats in particular can get very sick if exposed to certain essential oils. Tea tree oil is particularly toxic to cats. Also, some people can be sensitive to these scents where a small amount / limited period of exposure can be pleasant, but a longer exposure can make you feel unwell.

As such, start slowly, and try oils for a short period of time and see how you feel.

On a related note, simply running a decent air purifier in a room can make it smell much more pleasant and clean.

I have two of the exact same model shown in the original photograph.

They work and diffuse aroma from aroma oils effectively.  However, as mentioned, they do this by using water moisture (mist) as the carrier for the aroma so you do need to be aware that humidity will increase, which isn't always desirable.

You don't need to outlay money to buy these kinds of fancy  gadgets. All you need to do is close all your doors ans windowa when your missus is cooking up a nice strong Thai curry and the beautiful aroma will stay inside the house all day.

Try taking a shower sometime and you wont need one

Landlords BEWARE !

We had one tenant for a few years who was ok .    I maybe was in the house once or twice when asked to look at something and noticed the smell from her diffuser but it wasn't so bad .

Little did i know ..... that when she moved the smell remained .   No amount of cleaning the walls with soap, vinegar,  baking soda multiple times would get the odor out of the painted walls .   We even repainted !    STILL  a faint odor remained  and luckily we found a new tenant who was ok with it .

After 17 years,  that was a first .    We have sold ........ but any future lease would specify NO DIFFUSERS  ,  to go along with the no indoor smoking which also will linger but not as bad as that  "organic lavender"  or whatever it was .

  • 4 months later...

I use a diffuser most evenings, mostly to take the edge off the room after cooking. I rotate a few oils, but sometimes I skip oils completely and burn sticks from Incense Store because the scents feel richer and last longer. The diffuser handles daytime use, and the incense sets a calmer vibe at night, so the mix works well for me without feeling like overkill.

The AC system ducts. This is where the smell goes.

Have you replaced the whole A/C system including the piping ?

Who wouldn't!

Well that's where the smell has gone, if it's really upsetting. Furthermore any curtains and sofas would need full industrial cleaned. Simple open window job won't do.

I have windows and doors that open.

Much better.

It must be nice having a garden overflowing with roses and jasmine.
