  • Lock him up. He already wriggled out of the first try. No bail, no appeal, like monopoly, "Go straight to jail".

  • He will not serve one day in a prison cell.

If they can jail Thaksin a long list of lesser elites  and more deserving ones should be rotting in jail now.

I have to feel sympathy for Hunz. Such a dedicated follower of Thaksin. You must have been on an emotional rollercoaster the last few days.

Still, with your first name being German and your surname Thai, presumably you are  either the singer Huntz Kittisak, or one of his 5.7k followers.

The latter more likely. Stick to morlam, it's much better music than Bangkok pop, 555.

Back to Thaksin, this being Amazing Thailand, we still don't know how this saga will play out!

Thailand never fails to surprise me, i didn't see this coming after his return yesterday.

Ha Ha…..Khao tom = hospital and prison food.

I used to like khao tom when my wife made it, but since I was in hospital it was the most disgusting food I have ever seen, I cant bring myself to eat it ever again, It got served every morning, and I was paying to be there not free,

This is far more entertaining than all other Thai soap operas.

I'm really looking forward to the next thrilling episode.

🤣🤣🤣

From what I read, to get a second Royal pardon is unheard of, but of course there's always a first time.

also a PM has never been sentenced to serve time in jail
he is 76 and has medical problems, plus is still very much connected
am sure something was arranged while he was in Dubai otherwise why come back?

Hey, its Thailand   5555

Any more ploys will render the efforts to gain sympathy useless.

As it is, every Thai knows his 'imprisonment' first time around was a farce with nothing but lies about his 'serious illness', so, imo, he's really got to play the game this time to gather sympathy.

Tony in prison gear seeing mailbags or whatever they do in prison, will well up  tears amongst the public.

Perhaps we should consult our resident Thai jail expert here, Liverpool Lou, I believe is his handle, as to the daily activities at Klong Prem

You mean Mr Pedantic.

If I was him with his money I would be living it up in some other country and putting two fingers up to the Thai establishment.

So now there'll be an appeal process? And further Get Out of Jail cards to play, including air navigation matters ...

No.

He'll definitely serve his year in prison. It remains to be seen whether he'll be held in the same conditions as a normal prisoner. At least he has (I hope) a criminal record with two convictions.

Apeals process will happen meanwhile warm up my jet engines

No, it will not, if that was going to happen he would not have been taken to prison.

During the hearing, Thaksin appeared tense and was seen clutching his forehead. His daughters, Paetongtarn and Pintongta, present for support, also shared a similar look of concern.

I can't wait for the histrionics and the new displays of medical equipment, as well as the faces of concerned doctors and red-shirt supporters.

Fair chance a deal has already been struck hence his return to Thailand from Dubai.

I think that's what he's been doing ever since they were looking for him because of all the things he's been doing.

I hope all this fuss isn't just a farce.

I think he is already in.

I like it that at least he is convicted and will have a record.

He was convicted and had a record before the SC's ruling.

It will end up being home arrest with an ankle bracelet, he is 76 after all.

Yep - more like it.  Or blanket amnesties for all prisoners over 75.  Sorry - I've seen how the system works and I'm none too confident that "justice" for Tony will be the same as "justice" for any other 76 year old Thai commoner.

Now lets see if he (actually ) spends time in a jail cell. I'm thinking there's not enough room in the cell for both him and his ego! This is epic news (to me anyway)

Yes I thought the same

You don't understand. T I T

Actually do quite well. Been here 36 years. He is locked up dude. May have some special privileges but is locked up. He is 76 years old so some consideration must be given. He gambled and came back, check back in about 3 months. He will be in at least that long.

One day, when all the major actors in Thailand society have shrugged off their mortal coils, and Thailand has joined those lucky societies where freedom of speech is much more relaxed, someone will make a movie about the rise and fall of Thaksin since the 1990s.

It will be a fascinating film. Sadly I will be gone too by then, lol.

Prison cell. Not prison. He was in the prison before but not in a cell. I want to see him behind bars.

All he had to do was stay in the dam pool with the grandkids.

A love of power flows through his veins.

One of the things that really irritated me about him was his refusal to ever apologize for mistakes he made.

I believe he only apologized about the Tak Bai massacre recently. Okay, some will argue it was the army's fault but as the PM at the time, he should have apologized too.

A very arrogant man.

.Wondering how they will lock him in..

The same way that all the other prisoners are locked in.

correct he is barred from being a MP    the loop hole is if a foreign court had convicted him  but this is not the case

He is finished with Politics  he said so awhile back 🤣

Police are set to take the 76-year-old billionaire into custody. He had yet to leave the courthouse, as reported by a Reuters journalist on the scene

I wonder how much it will cost him this time to leave through a back door and straight to a private airstrip, this man will never see the inside of a thai jail cell, if he is jailed I'd be shocked

In the unlikely event he does go to jail you can be sure he will have a private luxury cell with every convenience known to man...

He's there already and the Thai prison system does not have "private luxury cells...despite the asinine Asean Now posters' urban myth.

They do not wear prison uniform, inmates wear their own clothes except when they have to appear in court.
